Giving Tip Is Your Personal Choice

Hello to all hive users 🙏❤️😊
Hope you all are healthy and doing great in your life🙂

When we go to a hotel or a big restaurant, if we like their service then many people give tips there. I have seen in many places that people eat food in a hotel and their bill comes for a fixed amount and the money they pay there is mostly in round figures, then the remaining money is told to the waiter to take it as a tip or many people say keep the change. However, giving tip is not compulsory, it basically depends on the customer that if he wants to give something from his side then he can do so. The hotel or restaurant cannot force you for this because there is no such provision. Many waiters who work in hotels and mainly work in such places where more tourists come from outside, they get good tips and there they earn more money from tips than their salary. If you go to a big hotel, first of all you must have seen that a waiter comes to take your luggage and he has to take your luggage to your room and then many people give him some tips there also. Similarly, when you go to check out your room, then again a waiter takes your luggage from the room to your taxi or card, then there also many people give some tips to the waiter.

If you see, the waiter gets the most tips because he is the staff who interacts the most with the customer. It is seen in very few conditions that the customer is so impressed with the taste of the food that he leaves after giving some tip to the chef. I have noticed one thing that the people who give tips here mostly give it in big hotels, if we talk about small hotels then this kind of thing is seen less there. I do not understand why people give tips in big hotels because first of all the food there is so expensive that it is four to five times more expensive than normal food and then on top of that, taxes have to be paid, so the bill comes even higher. Then after this, many people also give tips, which leads to a lot of expenditure. On the other hand, I have seen that in small hotels or restaurants, there are very few people who give tips, whereas the need for tips is the most in those places. Firstly, the employees there work for very low salaries and on top of that their working shifts are also very long, so they need more tips. If the people who give tips in big hotels go to a small hotel and eat and then tip the waiter there, then their expenses will be covered and the tip given by them will be used at the right place.

As I said earlier, giving a tip depends on the customer but sometimes it happens that some people give a tip just to show off which is not right at all because I have seen that many people go to big hotels to show off and after spending a lot of money there, they also give some tip just to show off and in such a case, the loss is of those people only. I once went out to eat with some relatives on my birthday and we had dinner there and after dinner, when our bill came, some money was left in it, so I told the waiter to keep the remaining money because his son had first arranged for our sitting because there was a lot of crowd there and many people were standing in line.
Then the food we had ordered was served very quickly because seeing the crowd there, it seemed that the food would take a long time to arrive but the food arrived quickly and was also very tasty, so considering all this good service, I gave him some money as tip.

One thing should always be kept in mind that whatever tip you are giving, give it directly to the waiter because if you pay at the cash counter or anywhere else, then many times it happens that people do not give tip to the waiter and keep it for themselves. Nowadays many people use online payment and pay the exact amount there, so in such a situation many times it happens that even if someone wants to give, he cannot do so because in online transaction all the money will go to the owner's account.

It is completely up to you whether you give a tip or not because it is your discretion. I have seen many places where the hotel staff forces you to give a tip, this thing is not right at all because it is according to the customer's wish. I have just told you something earlier that we had gone somewhere for a trip and stayed in the same hotel at night. We were quite late so we thought of eating in this hotel itself. When we asked the price of food in the hotel, it was quite high, if I say, it was almost 1.5 times more than the normal food. Then we thought that if the food is good, then let's try it once. When we ordered food and first tasted it, the taste of the food was so bad that I can't describe it. Then somehow we ate the food and finished it with great difficulty. The next morning when we started checking out, the waiter came to us and asked if we could give some tip. We asked him what should we tip him for because his service was completely bad and on top of that the attached bathroom in the room had a lot of problems. We did not think it right to tip there because the service was very bad but we requested all our friends there for a tip but no one thought it right to tip. We had paid the full rent of the hotel and if we had liked the hotel service then we would have definitely given a tip but nothing like that happened.

I agree with you, tips should be given as a form of reward for good service and a sign of positive evaluation of the service received.

You have constructive thinking brother and I support your way of thinking.
