I love exploring nearby parks, and since Daan Park is conveniently located right next to the MRT Daan Park station in Taipei, I decided to visit on a leisurely weekday during a business trip.

I had always heard that Daan Park was massive, but it wasn't until I arrived that I truly grasped its size—it covers an area of about 25.9 hectares. Initially, I thought about renting a Ubike to explore the park, but I soon realized that cycling is prohibited inside. So, I had no choice but to experience it all on foot.

In addition to the typical children's play areas, Daan Park features an ecological pond, basketball courts, an inline skating rink, an open-air music stage, and various unique sculptures. The playground is forest-themed, with wooden houses, climbing structures, and sand pits. One particular highlight is a cement dinosaur-shaped slide, which looks so adorable that it makes me feel young at heart. The skating rink also brought back nostalgic memories—having a large, free space for rollerblading is truly a blessing.

Dubbed the "Lungs of Taipei," Daan Park is essentially a lush ecological park filled with dense greenery. As a tree enthusiast, I enjoyed strolling along the park’s pathways, taking in the abundance of green plants and immersing myself in the phytoncides released by the trees. On sunny days, seeing sunlight filter through the leaves always fills life with a poetic charm.

If you get tired of walking, there are plenty of pavilions and benches along the trails where you can rest. Some people sit quietly reading, savoring the tranquility, while others simply relax, taking in the sight of towering trees, playful squirrels, and pigeons freely flying about. Life’s beauty is truly within reach if you just pause to notice it. As the beginning of spring approaches, it seems like a perfect time to revisit Daan Park and immerse myself in its verdant scenery once again.
