About things you don't really buy. A fun afternoon with real affections and “What were you doing while you were off my radar?” The Coffee Shop Prompt: Week 98: Jan 2 - 8

in #hive-15252414 days ago

I bought this coffee that I am now telling you about? I think so, but it's possible that I just saw that cute young couple @bertrayo and @octocel and said: Come on! Invite me for a coffee!

But first, let me tell you briefly what happened before. Between so many coffees that I didn't tell you about, the tea catastrophe happened.

Preamble

I did not make any reference to the event, because I was really scared. It was a hot night at the beach with a mint tea with lemon, very cold, at the edge of the beach.

A stumble after a run. I cut myself on the beautiful glass. They never told you when you were little not to run with glass utensils in your hands? Don't. I got six stitches in the index finger of my right hand. For many days I feared I would no longer be able to draw or write by hand, and I became quite depressed.
My bones did not suffer, but my tendons did. The good news: I can write by hand and on the computer and I can draw.
I am happy again.

Things you don't buy when you buy

My life has been full of coffees.

I have had office coffee, coffee at work meetings, coffees to keep me awake, coffee with the family, super fun after-dinner coffees with friends, coffees to comfort me, coffees to kill hunger, coffees to think, coffees to write and draw.
Coffee has never failed me and it is a ritual in my close circle to invite and be invited for coffee. It is also so in the environment in which I move: almost nothing is done without coffee.

In fact, as in the afternoon at hand, I may have been the one who proposed to have that coffee and someone else ended up paying for it.
What I can say is that there is one thing that, even if I paid, I did not end up paying for.
What did I not pay for with this purchase?
What coffee usually gives you for free: the ability to generate sociability around it.

Sweet Temptation. The coffee shop

This coffee shop is nothing more than a kiosk in a hallway of the Traki mall.
But they do know about coffee. It is run by three very nice and charming girls and they serve coffee in small glass cups accompanied by delicious cookies.

When I go there and when I invite someone to go there I recommend them to drink the espresso or the macchiato. They have a very high quality coffee.

I often go there. Not only to drink their excellent espressos, but to drink the coldest barley malt based drink. It is a bottled drink, very popular, and most Venezuelans love it.
I didn't order it on this occasion, but I often go there to drink it when it is very hot.

A fun afternoon

As you can see in the pictures I bring here, @bertrayo is a real content creator. He always has his camera ready and really takes amazing pictures. We joked about it that afternoon.
He also has the ability to turn little stories into interesting events.
I really like his monochrome photographs, so I made this modest tribute to his talent.

CUE.png

I photographed him photographing the scene that I assumed at some point we would both set up in some Hive post, as indeed is happening as I write these lines.

RISA.png

That afternoon we told stories, we smiled we talked a lot about Hive.
And of all things there was something really valuable that afternoon: I had coffee with my daughter and @bertrayo as three good friends.
And although magazine articles and networks are full of phrases like "your kids can be your best friends" achieving that connection is far from common. Parents somehow always remain parents, so I treasure these moments in my heart with great joy.

Thank you very much for your support. I greatly appreciate the gesture.

Three good friends ♥️ And two of them make a beautiful couple 😄

I identify with your words about the social plus that coffee brings to our lives. I also feel your words like an echo of my own when you say you're good friends with your daughter; I feel the same way about my son...

Lovely post! Watch out for glass doors!!!

I will follow your advice.
I suppose that coffee, since its discovery, has always been a fundamental ingredient for union and harmony.
I am certain that there is much in my environment that is achieved by the decisive intervention of "un cafecito".
Greetings, sis!

One cafecito moves mountains, open doors, hehe.

A coffee between hivers, wow! I thought this was fantastic 👏🏻👏🏻 it is pleasant to have wonderful moments sharing a coffee with the people we love. 👍🏻

And this coffee shop is great. Small and charming. Ideal for sitting down with a couple of good friends to hang out.
Happy coffees,@alborhada.

Oh my goodness! Such a tragedy about the accident with the glass, as an adult one begins to ignore those basic warnings that echo in our head, they do it with reason, but there we go believing we are invincible. I'm glad to read that despite the anguish and the bad time, the wound has healed well and you are able to maintain your mobility seamlessly.
On the other hand, how nice it was reading you, I really enjoyed the way you narrate your story, a beautifully described ordinary outing. I say this with total sincerity.
I too have used coffee as a hunger killer hahaha works great.
Espressos are a good way to check that the coffee and the way it is brewed are good, it is so easy to make them wrong and burn them, if you manage to serve it right, the rest of the brews are likely to hit the mark.
Good meeting point to share with nice people from Hive. Keep enjoying it!

Hello, @ninaeatshere!
I greatly appreciate the attention with which you read my post. It is a joy to know that this afternoon continues to provide pleasant moments.

I totally agree with your argument: if you want to know if a coffee shop has quality coffee and knows how to prepare it, the best thing to do is to drink an espresso.
The feeling of well-being is immediate.

I can't say goodbye without telling you that your comment is beautiful and I appreciate it very much. It is a pleasure to meet you.
Receive a New Year's greeting and may this one come with many, many good coffees!

Happy New Year! 🎉

Thank you for stopping by. See you again soon:)

May this new year be one of many successes for this warm community. May the coffees and teas be like cornucopias.
Thank you for creating and sustaining such a wonderful community idea.
Happy 2025!
Hugs!

Aww look at all you smiling, happy people! It sounds like a wonderful afternoon - I always love hearing about Hiveians meeting in real life and hanging out together! And oh no, I am so sorry to hear about your finger, dear :( A less than great way to start the new year, but hopefully that means it's only good things going forward from here, yeah? :) Happy New Year!

Hello, @honeydue!
Sharing with people is always a vindication of the heart.
We have become accustomed to virtual presences, but, at least for people of my generation, we always miss the physical presence.
Regarding my finger, as soon as I discovered that it can work, even if its mobility is limited, I felt lucky. So already my 2025 is off to a good start and I hope it continues to get better.
I wish the same for you throughout this year. Ventura!

It's always nice to have a coffee with you. We've been an that for more than 10 years now. It seems crazy! Thanks for the little homage. I do love documentary photography. I guess that's the reason I like black and white photography so much.

Hello, @bertrayo!
We need to have a coffee to talk about photography!

I'm very sorry about your accident, but fortunately you're now recovered and back to your old ways. It's good to continue doing what we're passionate about.

How nice to be able to enjoy moments with friends and family around a delicious cup of coffee to liven up the conversation.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us.☕

Happy New Year!

May your 2025 be wonderful, @poeticcorner7.
May there be lots of coffee and may the passion continue to accompany you so I can keep reading your wonderful posts.
Thank you very much for your good wishes.
Best regards and hugs!
