Golden Dwarf Mantis (Ameles sp.)

I knew he was good at camouflage. But this little guy was in a place he shouldn’t have been, and I caught him red-handed. He should have been camouflaged in a dry twig or reed. Instead of trying to escape, he stuck to his spot. What guts!

The golden dwarf mantis (Ameles sp.) is a praying mantis belonging to the family Amelidae distributed in Asia, Africa, and Europe. The mantis is yellow to brown with small, rough spots all over its body.
