Hello, gamers of Hive. I hope you all are doing well.
Today, I will share the journey of Kratos and Atreus through Midgard as Fimbulwinter took over the realm. Only the toughest raiders and
Without further ado, let's begin!
We see Kratos take on the Norse god of Thunder. Kratos was initially going easy as if he didn't completely want to fight while Thor was toying with the retired god of war as Thor threw Kratos across the map, fighting. Thor and Kratos threw each other's weapon and they clashed; the result was a frozen bolt of lightning. Finally, Thor threatened to harm Atreus once Kratos was down and out, which got Kratos to take Thor seriously and throw a punch that knocked out Thor's tooth. That's when Thor said the blood debt he owed him was paid.
This Time
After the fight, Kratos found that Brok and Sindri were near and witnessed the greatest battle of the century. Kratos remembered that Odin was at their place with Atreus. Sindri ran toward the "anywhere" door and did his dwarven magic. That is when I found the old workshop where the brothers used to smith quality upgrades for my gear. It's abandoned now.
The door allowed him to enter in front of his house where Atreus and Mimir were getting anxious. He asked Atreus about Odin. Odin merely left a penny to cover the damage to the roof and invited him to Asgard.
When asked about his search for Tyr, Atreus quickly changed the topic and wanted to show his findings. Kratos was angry that he was betrayed but later agreed to see the findings.
This is when the journey begins for real. It's sad to see that Kratos just forgot all the skills he had learned in the last installment of God of War. Now I had to do all of that all over again. However, this time they added a few stuff to the skills. This time, the option we were given was to set a certain type of bonus to the learned skills; it could be increased damage or rage buildup. I chose rage of course as it would save me from unruly situations.
After battling the raiders for about 5 minutes I come to a clearing. This is also where I died for the first time since it was in the hardest difficulty and 1 hit from the enemy meant instant death.
I went into codex to check where I was at finding the number of enemies and found this lore on Faye, the late wife of Kratos.
As soon as we started to make progress, an enemy showed up. It hooked onto Kratos's arm, pulled him down the ledge, and trampled on him. Kratos knocked him back after throwing two punches to its sides. This new enemy type was called a Huntress. There was another enemy type similar to this; they were called Stalkers in the previous title.
It took me about 10 minutes before I beat it and reached the place Atreus had been dying to show us. This was the first time I got to see Atreus touch the middle part of the shrine and thus a glowy portal appeared.
This short display of light projection in the sky summarises the entire Ragnarok: how someone arrives and saves Skoll and Hati from their long boredom, and that someone has stolen the moon, so there is only darkness after the sun sets. And from the gist of it, Atreus surmised that Tyr, being at the center of it all, must be alive. Mimir said that during his servitude to Odin, Odin had told him that he killed Tyr.
Seeing Atreus go off in so much detail, Kratos asked him how many shrines he visited. Atreus quietly meekly, "All of them".
He also added that he found clues as to where Tyr was. Every time, it was the same 2 pieces of information: bleeding earth and black smoke. Krator asked Mimir if it meant Mulpelheim, Mimir replied that Odin would not dare set foot in the primordial realms. That only narrowed down their search as the next suspected realm was Svaltalfheim, the realm of dwarves.
So, our search extended toward another realm but with no way to cross realms, I wonder if the dwarves could help us. Moreover, the busted shield was no good against enemies in any realm and they were the only ones skilled enough to repair it.
And that's it for the gaming. I had a task from varsity and had to do some chores. I like how they brought out a new mean-looking enemy that would soon become a small fry once I upgraded my stats and armor.
