Hello, foodies of Hive. I hope you all are well and your stomach is as hungry as ever.

Today, I will share my experience of a Japanese-themed restaurant here in Mohammedpur, a few kilometers away from my home on this perilous journey, I brought in my trusted friend who has just as much of a thirst for delicacy.

Without further ado, let's begin!

For a few days, my friend and I had been watching this up-and-coming restaurant grow in popularity, and with its attractive Japanese dishes at extremely low prices, we wanted to try it out. So, after a few days of going back and forth on the dates, we finally had an open spot where we both were free.

So, my friend Erfan and I planned to go here last week and finally went yesterday. We planned to head toward this area right after our Jummah prayer, which would end at 2 pm, which also happened to be lunchtime when the traffic was at its lowest. We planned to get 2 ramen, that's it. For dessert, I didn't have plans and that's when Erfan asked if we could go for a pastry near the place, I agreed.

We reached it at 3:30 pm as the traffic arose 30 minutes after we hit the road. We both confessed that we had eaten a little something before heading out, thankfully it was helpful.

We placed our order 10 minutes after combing through the menu. Let's just say that my expectations got sucker punched, the prices were significantly increased after a month of their advertisement and all the food's names and prices looked like Tokyo Kitchen's. My friend and I were both perplexed about the prices so either we saw the wrong prices and convinced ourselves otherwise or their prices soared like Bitcoins within a month of opening.
So, instead of getting the ramen which was crazy expensive, I got an Oyakodon- chicken and egg donburi while my friend got a Beef Yakiniku.

At that moment, only a few customers were present. Soon, it started to fill in while the guy took our orders.

As we patiently waited for our meal, we saw that the light was good and liked a few good ones for memories.

And that's when we discovered a lot of wind outside, to the point that there was a huge. After waiting for over 40 minutes, we were told to wait for 5 more minutes during which all the other couples, large friend groups had already eaten their food and left. Even the people behind me in the pic.

That is when I got the opportunity to capture this pic. It was just me and my friend with no food and drinks. I lowkey wanted to be cheap and grab a cold drink from the store on the other side of the road but my friend here didn't want the hassle.

This was the best pic of the day for me. It has all the immersion of Japanese culture, food, and places with the cherry blossoms.

After a few more trips to the kitchen, we finally got our appetizer. It tasted good but I honestly felt that it was not gonna be that good, they completely gobsmacked me with the flavors it had, and boy was it amazing. It was a taco with the layer of traditional sushi and the deep-fried batter was seaweed; an amazing combination with an even better soy sauce.

And finally, my meal arrives. This is the Chicken and Egg Donburi which cost me $3.5 and I believe it was not worth it since it didn't have the quantity as I had been left to begin with.

This was the size of the stuff and boy was it lacking the food. The taste? It was good, the sauce made it extremely amazing. The fried egg was soft while the chicken was not exactly soft to the touch but it was fresh and boneless. The rice had all the flavors needed.

Next, my friend's meal came along, and his portion was a little lesser than which which pissed him off a bit but he did get a whole egg. P.s we love eggs. Looks-wise, this dish was appetizing and taste-wise, it was better than mine. But, it only qualm I had from these dishes is the fact that it was worth the cost.

After sittin there for 20 minutes, we decided to get the coke as it would be a disaster if we were to leave this place while a small wind storm was cruising through the streets. I asked them for a lemon slice as I would go great with the coke. Unfortunately, the slice slipped from my hand and fell into the coke🙂‍↕️. My friend laughed hard as he successfully squeezed it. But hey, we all have our moments of idiocy.

After about half of our meal was gone, he asked if we should get a ramen since we were in a ramen shop. I agreed and we elected for the Shoyu Spicy chicken ramen. 30 minutes later, we got the ramen, and boy was it full to the brim, finally something that looked and tasted amazing yet not worth the price. But, our goal was to fill our belly which was complete and so we were good.

And after careful thinking, I surmised that this had to be normal since this restaurant is in Mohammedpur. A city that is famous for its mugging of citizens.

Regardless, we went to another restaurant nearby before going back home which I shall soon post about after getting its pictures from my friend.

Thank you, guys, for reading this far, see you legends on the next one!

Sort:
