Today, I will share a battle that I will consider a lucky battle as the strategy I went with my gut got me the victory I desired. This battle features the struggle with low mana cost.

Without further ado, let's begin!

Battle Conditions

The mana cap is 16 and there are 3 summoners to choose from: Life, Water, and Dragon.

Battle Rules:-

  • Keep your distance: Monsters with melee attacks may not be used in battle.
  • Armoured up: All monsters have 2 armour in addition to their normal armour stat.
  • Fog of War: Monsters lose the sneak, snipe, and opportunity abilities.

Keeping the mana cap and battle rules in mind, I chose to have the Water summoner as it is my next best choice after my favourite summoner.

Battle Details

Let's start from my side:

Summoner: Keyla Frendul(Ability: Increase in speed and armour for all ally monsters by 1)(Level 3)

Tank: Oshanuus(Ability: Void).

Non-Attacker: Merdaali Guardian(Ability: Heal).

My strategy was to have a tank with extremely high speed so that the enemy melee and ranged attackers miss. And, to decrease the incoming magic damage by half thanks to the ability of my tank. I used a healer that would constantly heal my tank to add to the survivability plan.

My overall damage per round is 2 with a healing of 3. This is probably the firs time ever that my overall healing is higher than my overall damage.

Now for the opposition's turn:

Summoner: Quix the Devious(Ability: Decrease in speed and ranged attack damage for all enemy monsters).

Tank: Pelacor Conjurer(Ability: Flying, Magic Reflector).

Non-attacker: Chaos Agent(Ability: Dodge).

Magic Attackers: Dax Paragon(Ability: Amplify), Temporal Master(Ability: Recharge),

Ranged Attackers: Xenith Archer(No Ability*), Naga Assassin(No Ability).

His strategy was to use the number of monsters to his advantage and distribute the damage dealt evenly throughout his deck. He used 2 monsters as shields, his tank and the non-attacker monster behind it.

His overall damage per round is 6.

Major Events

Screenshot (2319).png

The first monster to fall was his tank after 3 rounds. My tank was still at near its peak HP and thus it turned into a 5 v 2.

The second monster to fall was his Chaos Agent. So, the battle was a 4 v 2.

The third monster to fall was Dax while my tank was still going strong, dodging the ranged attacks and dissolving the weak incoming magic damage.

Next, his Xenith Archer fell while my tank was at max HP.

His Assassin got smacked and thus my tank and healer combo was going unchallenged.

Finally, after 12 rounds, all of his monsters fell to my tank with a stable damage of 2.

Results

Since the fog of war was up, no attacker would attack from behind so my healer was safe. Furthermore, I knew in an instant that my opponent would use a cheap monster deck since most players do that, and a tank, aided by a healer, would be the perfect way to play this. It would've been bad if he used a high-damage melee attacker, then my healer would have a tough time keeping the tank alive. Therefore, I sacrificed overall damage for survivability according to the battle rules. He used a monster that had the magic reflector ability that was very useful and could've put me in real danger if the other monsters had their attacks hit my tank but thanks to the high speed and void ability, it survived the onslaught.
