Caturday Best Friends

We went on holiday last week, and left our furry boys in the care of a relative who came to cat-sit for us.

Now we're back, it is clear that the two of them have gone from closely bonded to totally inseparable. I woke up this morning, and this is how they were...

I'm glad I had my phone by the bed to take a photo ! Chester is really hard to get a good picture of, he usually just comes out like a black silhouette with eyes 😁

It turns out that while we were away, the two of them seemed to work as a team to get our cat-sitter totally under the paw. They'd take it in turns to beg for food, and as soon as one got a snack, the other would appear.

On one occasion, just after getting snacks one of them distracted her into another room. That caused her to forget to put the food container back into the cupboard. The cunning little so and so's didn't do anything immediately. Instead, our cat-sitter was woken up by a crash in the middle of the night. Rushing down into the kitchen, she found the food tub on the floor, and both our boys chomping on the mountain of dry cat-biscuits as fast as possible.

The two of them love spending time on the stairs together as well. Very cute !

But despite being mischievous, they are great company, and we can tell they missed us while we were away. Chester spent all night giving us cuddles and purring, and even Duncan hasn't been quite as aloof as he normally is.

I wonder what crazy schemes to get snacks they will cook up next.....

Cats are very intelligent, they always surprise us with their behavior. How great that they are more united, thank you very much for sharing this experience @alonicus

Thank you ! Chester and Duncan are definitely working as a close team..... it's fun to watch, but my wife and I have to really co-ordinate to make sure they aren't putting one over on us 😁
