Hello needleworkers..
It's an amazing new day and the last Monday in 2024. Have you closed for the year already?
I hope all is well with you and you're already rounding off all your 2024 projects.
This is my final project for the year and it's just a simple kaftan dress made of African print and white sample lace. The color is so beautiful and I like it so much. The African print fabric was given to me as a thank you gift from my friend and so I thought of bringing the fabric to life by making something simple out of it as it was two yards of fabrics.
I sewed the dress to gift myself for all the hardwork I have done for the year.
It's a simple dress I can rock to a simple gathering.
The lace was a left over of the one I made for my mom earlier this year. It's just half yard and I just decided to attach it to the kaftan to add beauty to it.
This African print is so easy to work it. I folded the front bodice using my hip measurement, since it's the largest part of my body.
I cut the neckline as a round neckline and secured it with a bias. It has inner pocket at the sides and has a slit at the front too.
The sleeve is just a simple short sleeve with no drama. I just wanted to add this to my kaftan collections.
I am so excited because when I look back at all the projects I did this year, they made me more skillful and brought me more client.
I hope to do a recap of my favorite projects in 2024 very soon.
I made this dress on Saturday evening in my house as I have closed my office for the year. I was missing pedaling my machine so I hopped on this one hehe.
What do you hope to improve on next year? For me, I hope to expand my brand farther than where I am known and I have plans to go for a fashion upgrade. An upgrade is a good idea as it helps one stand out. As we all know fashion evolves everyday and if one must stay in the game, one must keep getting upgraded.
My space next year will be more beautiful than you've ever known as I'll be sharing more detailed projects and even sharing some fashion hack to help everyone navigate the common problem we face as tailors.
I wish you all the best as you all have set goals to achieve come 2025.
Images used belong to me, outfit cut and sewn by me.
