It's a pleasure to be here again and share with you my project over the weekend.

I realized it's been a while I made a dress for myself. I've been busy styling others forgetting I need styling too. I've become so used to not making clothes for myself lately because I have enough and do not even have time to make a dress for myself.

However last Thursday, I felt the urge to rock something new to service. It's the eleventh month of the year, after so much reflection on how far I've come for the year, I thought it was high time I spoilt myself with a beautiful simple dress.

I do not like busy dresses, I am a very simple lady and so a fitted dress with a little detail was just fine by me.

I've had this lycra fabrics since the beginning of the year but didn't know what exactly to make with it. I knew I didn't want something regular even though it would be simple.

So my quest for something classy begun. I remembered a breast box pleat I once made for a lady at the beginning of the year and how badly I wanted to make mine. I decided to make the box pleat instead of the regular princess dart or bustier and then a puff sleeve was just a perfect combo.

I folded my fabrics using my body measurement, it was a dress with half cut, so I marked my bust, shoulder, under bust and other necessary measurement before cutting out the half length.

I had pieces of three different lycra which weren't enough so I decided to use that as the spice at the hem of my dress.

I proceeded to cut my lower bodice, as a fitted dress which was about two inches above my knee as it was a dress to be worn for service.

After joining all of them together, I added it to the hem of my dress after sewing.

And the stretchy part of the fabric is usually used as the width while the non stretchy part is used as the length.

It's usually a little struggle to wear this dress since there's no zip, but it requires lot of patience and the skill of dragging the dress while wearing.

However, if you've successfully worn it, it fits like glove.

Lyrca fabrics are the most sleek fabrics out there, their texture and feel is so beautiful and soothing to the eyes.

This dress doesn't have a zipper because it's a stretchy fabrics and there's a secret of making a stretchy dress. A few ways to making a stretchy dress is using candle, newspaper, hemstay or a very good interface to add thickness to the stitches.

Here's the final outcome of my dress. I love the color the most and the details on the breast. What do you love about this dress?
