That Saturday afternoon was a very sunny one, I had finished my house chores at about 12pm when I began to think of something to do for fun, sleeping was out of the list as the only time I slept at noon was when I felt sick or extremely exhausted.

I thought of seeing a movie, but the previous night was a movie galore night, I and my siblings saw a lot of movie even till midnight, it was out of my bucket list for the weekend. Since I slept late the previous night, I woke up late after my siblings had already left the house for the market so I was home alone.

"I wonder why they all left without waking me up," I murmured even though in reality I knew if they had woken me to join them, I would have declined.

"Maybe I should just listen to music or just play a game on my device," I began to soliloquize, I took a walk around the house to see what I could do to keep myself occupied until my siblings arrived.

As I got to the guest room, I stumbled on a card game neatly arranged in one of the shelves. It was nostalgic, I began to reminisce about the days I and my siblings played the game in a variety of ways, the one I recalled the most was the "jackpot" and it was always fun with my siblings, I took a moment to also reminisce about the way we all had a sign to signify our games were completed until we screamed "jackpot!", I miss Donald, my brother whom used to be my Jackpot partner, Donald had gone back to school. "hmmm the good old days," I whispered.

Everyone in the house knew that I was a card game guru but when it came to board games especially the Ludo,I played it once in a blue moon because my siblings always beat me to it which was why I lost interest in board games.

As soon as my eyes caught sight of the Ludo which was placed very close to the shelf, I decided to play it all alone, to get a hang of it.

"Here you go!" I brought it and dusted it, took a seat and began to arrange the dice and seeds when I heard the voices of my siblings.

"Damn, they are already back," I was in two minds to keep off or continue playing as I knew they would love to join me play the game.

"Look who's playing the Ludo game after so many months, haha," Gift my eldest sister excitedly called the attention of Daniela, my immediate elder sister.

"Oh, Amie, let's join you and deal with you like we've always done," Daniela concluded, dropping her shopping bag beside where I was seated.

Determined to get a mastery of the Ludo game, I decided not to retreat this time, "okay, let's see how it goes," I replied with a soft tone for fear I might truly be dealt with.

It was a round table game, so I and my siblings began playing, Gift was undoubtedly a guru in the board game, but I realised I had the potential to beat Daniela to it this time.

Surprisingly I began to play so well and they both paused for a moment. "Are you cheating? How come you're winning now?" Daniela asked in amazement.

"One cannot be a loser forever isn't it? I am not cheating but I am determined and focused..let's continue," I was so immersed in the game that I hardly batted an eyelid. "See how focused she is and you think she won't win you eh Daniela?" My eldest sister said laughing so hard.

It ended that Gift beat me to the game with two points but I beat Daniela to the game, "Daniela, Amie dealt with you this time," Gift teased Daniela as we all laughed over it.

"Should we continue?" I confidently asked Daniela, she began smiling, "Just because you won this time, you're already feeling like a Don, I guess it's cause I was exhausted from the market, hold on let me freshen up and eat, afterwards we will continue," she stood up and reached for the shopping bag.

"Okay, so what did you guys get at the market?" I knew it was time to raid their bags being the youngest, "They knew if I got a hold of the bag, half of what they bought which was edible would be gone, "Dont touch my bag oo," Gift got up trying to secure the bag, she threw the bag to Daniela and they both ran off into the bedroom.

"Okay, I'll be in the living room waiting for you both," I stood hands at Akimbo, excited though that the house was lively again, my super sisters were home and happy.

There are times when you need to share moments with your brothers and sisters to strengthen the bonds of love. A game served to further strengthen family unity and affection. A very nice experience.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
Excellent Thursday.

That's right, games like these strengthen the bond of love between siblings.

Thanks for your comment.

They knew if I got a hold of the bag, half of what they bought which was edible would be gone,

I guess I read this one in Yoruba πŸ˜‚ that's how foodie's behaved πŸ˜‚

Well, I love that fact that you accepted to play the game even though you were afraid you might loose. This reminds me of the saying "Do it afraid, but do it anyway

Great writing you did here.

Lol, na inspiration 🀣, thanks for stopping by.

It is really nice to have sisters, and I can totally relate to how it is to have competition among siblings. The satisfaction in beating them was really soothing ahahaha.

Thanks for sharing such a brief yet entertaining read, @amiegeoffrey!

Lol, it soothing, nothing beats family quality time.

Games like that are usually more enjoyable if you're with the people important to you... Nothing really beats quality time with them!

What a fun day. The power of being focused and determined. Even though you were always beaten to the game, you won over Daniella this time around. That was a beautiful story and memory.

Yeah, it is indeed a beautiful memory. Thank you.

Ahh You won over Daniela? Daniela has disappointed me oπŸ˜‚
But let’s just say she was tired from the market because β€œwe don’t carry last”

Hahaha, well let's just say so πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

Don't touch my bagooo hahahahah

This just reminded me of what happened during covid we could only eat and play ludo with our neighbors, it was really good time despite that we had no food.
#dreemerforlife

Yeah, bonding time are fun time, thanks sis.

I prefer the board games to card games, as I don't really know so much about it. You see this ludo game, I'm very good at it. It's good to sometimes reminisce on the good old days. Popped in from Dreemport.

Haaa, I'm a card guru but Ludo? Hahahaha my sisters humble me all the time.
