You no longer have to go to a casino in Las Vegas to gamble, it's a couple of clicks away wherever you are!

Did you know that the global market size for online gambling has reached 305.8 billion dollars as of April 2024? Think about it; everyone has a phone, internet access, and anyone who watches football games sees the 1xbet and other competitors ads very often. At some point they have to think to themselves: "What if I end up making a lot of money?"

Similar apps target new accounts where they intentionally manipulate numbers to give you a spectacular experience, one that instantly hooks your brain. It's not just about the money, it's the feeling you get when you win.

When I was in Dahab, I heard a story of a guy who lost over 10 million pounds in a similar application. It started by him making some money initially and thinking he's on top of the world and set for life, then ended up with him selling literally everything he owned + ending up in so much debt.

My main concern is; such applications are accessible for our children, younger siblings, and people who we love and care for. There's so much to be lost apart from money, it's the work ethic that turns from I have to work hard to become wealthy to I just have to be lucky enough!

The options you have on such apps are crazy, you can even bet on random Counter Strike games!!!

The mindset of a gambler is destructive; they're only two scenarios: Either you win and you want to replicate this awesome experience, or you lose and you want to compensate the money you lost.

I've seen a lot of people around me losing much money to online gambling apps, and the more they lose the more they're ready to do "anything" to get more money and gamble because the possibility of compensation and even making gains is always there.

The rate of which online gambling is growing is very concerning! I swear there are millions of lives destroyed by such applications which present themselves as sort of "games" when they're the same thing as a casino is.

We have to raise awareness on how destructive modern gambling is, and protect the people we love from developing this modern addiction of gambling. Ideally, conservative countries should even ban such mobile applications, but that's a bit too much to ask for.

Do you think online gambling apps should be banned or they should still be there but add some restrictions to them? Your opinion matters!
