Last January, I was not so busy with gardening. Last month I decided to rest my garden.
Resting from gardening also means resting my body. Honestly, last month I was also exhausted so it was good that I had time to pay attention to my physical and mental health.
Last month, I only had the task of watering the remaining plants in my garden, which had not been harvested.
There were only chili plants left that I had to take care of. There were small chili plants, devil chili because they were super spicy. Then, mostly overall they were red chili plants!
Then this February, I started gardening again. I also started planting my garden again.
The polybags began to be neatly arranged. The raised bed planting medium also had a loose texture after being rested.
This month will enter the dry season. Rainfall will be less. So I chose plants that have minimal risk for the dry season.
Chili Plants Using Polybags
Overall, I chose chili plants and purple eggplant plants. I planted chili plants in polybags.
Eggplant plants in raised beds
Meanwhile, for eggplant plants, I planted them in raised beds. Eggplant plants are purple eggplants.
Then, I will show you the most fun activity! Just like get rewards!
Time to harvest red chilies! Finally I can harvest these red chilies after 3 months!
The most fun thing again, when I harvested red chilies, the price of red chilies in the market was experiencing a big increase. I was so happy that I needed to buy chilies again.
Red chili plants can be harvested repeatedly, because the red chilies do not turn red at the same time.
Even with an organic system, the harvest of red chili plants in my garden feels very satisfying. So far I have only used fertilization with compost or goat manure that has been fermented well and is ready to use (which has a texture like soil and no longer smells).
In addition to being harvested when the chilies are red, chilies can be harvested while they are still green. We in Indonesia also have many dishes using chili rain.
The price of green chili is also as expensive as red chili. In Indonesia, the average person is crazy about chili. It's like reducing our appetite if we don't include chili in our daily cooking. 😊
Well, you can also enjoy my latest video on Youtube about how to plant tomatoes from start to harvest. You can choose the text according to the language you want, because the original video is in Indonesian.
I am very happy to be able to share the spirit of gardening with you. Hopefully we all have the opportunity to garden even if it's only on the balcony of the house. Start with plants that are easy to care for so you can get used to caring for plants. See you 😊
