Hello, good morning to all the pet community. One of the things that occupy me daily since the beginning of the day, is the feeding of my herd. I currently have one puppy and four cats, and each one has a different condition which requires taking care of their feeding.
Last year, one member of the pack died of cystitis, and although he had treatment, care and a special diet, he did not resist. Another member of the herd has the same condition, and for that reason his diet is different from the others.
Some time ago, everyone's diet consisted only of kibble and water, a big mistake due to lack of knowledge. Even so, after my two kittens got sick, the vet did not change their diet and it was thanks to my friend Cristina (@actionscat), who has much more knowledge in kitten care, that my herd's diet changed.
With the information and tips Cristina provided me with, and looking for advice and ideas in special pet channels, I was able to put together the cats' menu, and you have no idea how many things I have learned. Today, my pets' meals are varied and delicious, and they are getting healthier and more beautiful. I have an adult puppy, a kitten with cystitis, a two month old baby, a kitten with a special condition, and an adult who thank God has not presented any disease or special condition, but I prefer to take care of his food to avoid them.
I have not totally eliminated the kibbles from their menus, I use them in small portions once a day, accompanied by wet food to keep their renal duct hydrated, and thus avoid inflammations. The kitten with cystitis, I do not give them to him, he only eats wet food.
They eat small portions of food three times a day, and their diet has these options:
-Carrot
-Chicken (preferably chicken breast)
-Liver (chicken or beef)
-Chicken legs
-Ground beef
-Egg
-Pumpkin or pumpkin
-Small gizzards
-Zucchini
-Croquettes for cats with renal problems
-Fish (eventually)
I combine these foods by making soups with some of them and putting others raw, something I didn't know, but I found out that since they are felines and are carnivorous hunters, it is necessary to include uncooked foods in their diet as well.
With the vegetables I make a puree after boiling them, the harder foods such as the pumpkin shell and the sweetbreads, I blend them, the eggs after washing the shell well, I boil them in the soup broth, and then I remove the shell, and integrate the egg to the puree.
I usually mix the shredded chicken from the soup with some raw option such as liver or ground beef. I add all this to the vegetable puree and the egg. I add small portions of this porridge, and they devour it in an instant. I reserve the broth from the soup to add a little to all their portions.
Not only has it been beneficial to document many options to feed my herd for their health, but it has allowed me to expand the menu and save on buying special foods, which in the end were not so special to be the only thing they consumed.

Hola, buenos días a toda la comunidad de mascotas. Una de las cosas que me ocupan diariamente desde que inicia el día, es la alimentación de mi manada. Tengo actualmente un perrito y cuatro gatos, y cada uno tiene una condición diferente lo que requiere cuidar su alimentación.
El año pasado, un miembro de la manada murió por cistitis, y a pesar de que tuvo tratamiento, cuidados y dieta especial, no resistió. Otro de los miembros de la manada presenta la misma condición, y por esa razón su dieta es diferente a la de los demás.
Tiempo atrás, la alimentación de todos sólo consistía en croquetas y agua, un error muy grande por desconocimiento. Aun así, después de enfermarse mis dos gatitos, el veterinario no cambió su dieta y fue gracias a mi amiga Cristina (@actioncats), quien tiene muchos más conocimientos que yo en los cuidados de gatitos, que la alimentación de mi manada cambió.
Con la información y los tips que me proporcionó Cristina, y buscando asesoría e ideas en canales especiales para mascotas, pude armar el menú de los gatos, y no tienen idea de la cantidad de cosas que he aprendido. Hoy en día, las comidas de mis mascotas son variadas y deliciosas, y ellos están cada vez más sanos y hermosos. Tengo un perrito adulto, un gatito de 10 años con cistitis, un bebé de dos meses, un gatito con condición especial, y un adulto que gracias a Dios no ha presentado ninguna enfermedad ni condición especial, pero prefiero cuidar su alimentación para evitarlas.
Las croquetas no las eliminé totalmente de sus menús, las uso en pequeñas porciones una vez al día, acompañadas de alimentos húmedos que mantienen hidratado su conducto renal, y así evitar inflamaciones. Al gatito con cistitis, no se las doy, él sólo consume alimentos húmedos.
Ellos comen pequeñas porciones de comida tres veces al día, y su dieta posee estas opciones:
-Zanahoria
-Pollo (pechuga preferiblemente)
-Hígado (de pollo o de res)
-Patitas de pollo
-Carne molida
-Huevo
-Calabaza o auyama
-Mollejitas
-Calabacín
-Croquetas para gatos con problemas renales
-Pescado (eventualmente)
Estos alimentos los combino entre hacer sopitas con algunos y colocar otros crudos, algo que desconocía, pero indagando conocí que por ser felinos y tener una condición de cazadores carnívoros, es necesario incluir en su dieta alimentos no cocidos también.
Con las hortalizas hago un puré después de sancocharlas, los alimentos más duros como la concha de la auyama y las mollejitas, los licúo, los huevitos después de lavar bien su cáscara, los pongo a sancochar en el caldo de la sopa, y después retiro la cáscara, e integro el huevito al puré.
Suelo mezclar el pollo de la sopita, desmenuzado, con alguna opción cruda como hígado, o carne molida. Todo esto lo uno al puré de hortalizas y el huevito. Les coloco pequeñas porciones de esta papilla, y ellos la devoran en un instante. El caldo de la sopa lo reservo para agregarle un poco a todas sus porciones.
No sólo ha sido beneficioso documentarme de muchas opciones para alimentar a mi manada por su salud, sino que me ha permitido ampliar el menú y ahorrar en la compra de alimentos especiales, que al final no eran tan especiales para ser lo único que consumieran.
