Hello everyone, this time I will be participating in this Splinterlands Challenge, which is about using strategies for tactical summoners.
When Rebellion cards came out, they brought with them Tactical summoners, these are a great addition to the game as they allow you to choose between their left or right tactic, before the battle begins, granting your units new abilities. The most used are the legendaries like Eternal Tofu,Cryptic and Risquel Drath due to their great abilities.
In this battle that I will be showing you I will be using Nidghoggr, which costs 10 mana, currently it is the summoner that costs the most mana in the game.
First of all, Nidhoggr has two debuffs for enemy units and a debilitation. So when Nidhoggr is in the game, all enemy units will lose -1 armor and health. But it also has the Force Reduction debilition, which is negative for the player who plays it, because it reduces the max team size by 1.
Its left tactic will give 3 units of your choise the ability Blast (unit deals half damage to units adjacent to the target unit), and the Deathblow (unit deals 2x damage if their target is the only unit on the enemy team).
On the other hand, the right tactic, will grant 3 units +2 speed and the Execute ability (if the target has 2 or less health, after a successfull attack, it will perform another attack on the same unit).
In ranked battles, you can wait until the enemy chooses their lineup to decide which tactics can give you the most advantage. After looking at the enemy lineup, I decided to give the Blast and Deathblow ability to my Rage dragon, and Runic Skyclaw. Both powerful units that have an power attack of 5, so if there are no attack reductions, thanks to the Blast they will be able to deal up to 3 points of damage to adjacent units. I forgot to give this tactic to another allied unit, because I tought it was only for 2 units, thinking this was too OP for 3 units.
The Rage dragon with a cost of 16 mana is the unit that costs the most mana at the moment. It has an attack power of 5, and aside from its flying, void, life leech and affliction abilities, it has the Weapons Training ability which grants adjacent non-attacking units a magic attack power of 3. That's why I used Pelacor Conjurer alongside it.
Runic Skyclaw, a ranged unit that has the same attack power as Rage, 5. Aside from its flying, Snipe and Reflection Shield abilities, it has the Giantkiller ability, whichs is very good against enemy units that have 10 or more mana, because its attacks will deal double damage to them. So Iziar will take 10 damage! Unfortunately, Iziar's adjacent allies will not take 5 damage, as the Giantkiller ability will only deal that much damage if they also have 10 or more mana, and neither Djinn Renova nor Olivia of the Brook cost that much mana, so they will only take 3 damage from the Blast.
The enemy played Eternal Tofu, and chose the right tactic, giving the Triage and Scavenger ability to Olivia of the Brook, but thanks to the high power attack of my Rage dragon and Runic Skyclaw, she was easily defeated due to the Blast damage in the first round, which prevented her from healing any backline unit or gaining health if a unit died.
In the second round, Runic Skyclaw perfoms a double kill by defeating Iziar and Djinn Renova. Later, my Grimbardun Fighter was defeated by Venari Crystalsmith's attack, but this won't be enough to defeat my other units.
In the third round, Runic Skyclaw kills again, this time Venari Crystalsmith is the victim. And Rage dragon annihilates Inevitable, with a magic damage of 10, due to the Deathblow ability, which multiplies its base damage by 2.
This shows how useful summoner tactics are, turning the tide of the battle. The dragon summoner I used is the latest one that has come out, the Blast ability of 3 units of your choice is very chaotic. I wonder what abilities the next tactical summoners will have, maybe the Charge ability to help melee units or the Wingbreak to defeat flying units faster? Or perhaps, it will grant a completely new buff, debuff, or ability to units. Whatever it is, the game will be more complex, competitive and fun.
That's all for now, if you haven't played Splinterlands yet, you can join with my referral link. See you on the battlefield!
