Whenever I think about the stock market, I remember what would have been the case if I had held some of the stocks that I was holding back then. I guess this can be a regret for anyone, but taking a look at the growth of some of the stocks, I keep getting this thought. Ganesh Housing is one such stock that keeps telling me that it was a missed opportunity. I was holding 2000 units of this stock about five years back.
Fundamentals are strong
I was attending a stock market session when someone mentioned that the fundamentals are very strong for Ganesh Housing. It was a big puzzle why this stock did not skyrocket. Back then, I paid a lot of attention to this because I was holding this stock before even attending that session. One of my friends mentioned this stock, and it was also highly affordable for me. I thought maybe I could make a short-term profit out of it. But I ended up having it for years.
I remember buying this stock for about 60 or 70 Rs about 7 years back. Today the price of this stock is over 1300 Rs which is more than 20X the initial price. I have seen many such stocks grow in the last 5 to 7 years but this one had a great growth I should say. Today I'm not holding this stock anymore.
I had a profit but not this much
I imagined how much my profit would have been if I had held this stock today. I sold the stock for a decent profit. Maybe I think I sold it when the price doubled. I was happy with the trade and I thought it was best. The expectation was for the stock to grow bigger but it was having a gradual increase. But my instincts still said that there might be a great opportunity for this stock but it never happened. Even until recently the price was only gradually increasing.
I sold the stock for a 2X profit and did not observe this stock at all. A few days back when I was checking I noticed that the price was 1300 Rs. If I had held my stock my overall profit would have been more than 25 lakhs. But yeah we cannot predict what happens to us in the stock market. But I'm still glad that I sold it only for a decent profit and it was also the right time I did it. I'm currently holding some of the stocks and I have similar hopes for those stocks too. I'm thinking of purchasing some new stocks that can have the same potential after 7 years from now. It is hard to predict or find but sometimes it can happen.
