I'm happy to share that I was able to power up 1000 Hive this month as well as part of HPUD. A good way to grow on Hive is to continue doing a lot of power-ups and increase our Hive holdings. When the price of Hive improves, we can book our profits. Many new projects are emerging on Hive providing hope to the investors. There is also a dark side where some of the funds in Hive are not utilized very well but that's a separate topic for discussion.
Every month I have been doing power-ups and this is the last power-up for the year. Usually, I set a goal for myself for the year and keep going towards reaching that goal. Last year I had a huge target for myself and reached 100k Hive power. This year I realized my target a little bit and focused on other things outside Hive. But still, I was able to achive 25k Hive power this year. I had a soft goal of reaching 125k Hive power before the end of the year which I think I will reach in about a week or so. This 1000 Hive that I have powered up will help in the process.
There is a huge decline in the author rewards this month. I usually write at least one article per day and I have been keeping this streak for many years. But this month due to a vacation plan, I had to break the streak. To be very honest I usually don't break the streak even if I'm on vacation. This time I had to do it because I also wanted to experience how it feels if I break the writing streak.
For about 10 days or even more than that, I did not write any articles on Hive this month. This month being a good for in terms of the price of BTC and Hive, I wanted to take a break and watch. The break I planned was only for one month but unfortunately, after my vacation, I fell sick and couldn't get back to writing. I couldn't get back to my regular projects too. But I'm glad that I had enough rest to reduce my stress levels too. That's the reason why my author rewards are looking a little low than usual.
I'm very glad that my curation rewards are improving. With about 8.8% APR I think it is a decent curation reward which is happening passively. Hopefully, this keeps increasing giving me a decent passive income in the future.
Passive income from curation rewards is a good thing combined with the witness earnings. Right now my position is at 62 and the earnings I receive from my witness is mostly covering my server costs. Hopefully if I progress further to the top, the rewards should increase and I can run a full node if the rewards improve.
