No hard rules in life

in #hive-1679229 days ago

I used to be a very strict person in the past. I had some rules set in my life and it was very disturbing if I broke those rules myself or if someone else broke any of my rules. It was very hard for me to be adaptive or let things go. During COVID-19, I had anxiety and panic attacks and that's when I learned that I shouldn't take anything very serious and I started calming myself down a lot.

Be flexible

Flexibility is very good. I understand that going to the office on time is an important thing but at the same time imagine if someone gets hurt in the road while traveling because they are late to the office. Rushing things may not help but at the same time, with a calm mind, we can achieve better. Not just about timings but anything for that matter, it is good to be flexible. We might be thinking something but there will always be counter thoughts from the other end too. If we are very flexible, it is easy to settle on a common ground.

Have some moral values

Having a moral value in life is also important. Our thought process and what opinions we have in our life matters because that's what makes us a better person every day. If we have good moral values and if we have learnt it from the right source, we will have the required power to make the right decisions which can be very good for us.

Our own rules can restrict our growth

Sometimes we have to also be flexible with the rules we set. In the previous paragraph, we have seen that rules are important or that the moral values we practice and preach make a difference but at the same time we should also be a little flexible with our rules because it can restrict our growth. Sometimes the rules that we have in our life can be a disturbing one for someone else. I used to be a tough guy with lots of restrictions. I still have some restrictions and rules in my life but I have reached a point where I'm okay to be a little bit flexible on these rules.

Be a Roman in Rome

Wherever it is necessary we can have some rules but in other places, we have to relax some of the rules. Let's say we have a practice of taking bath only in cold water. If we go to a cold place and say that we will not take a bath in hot water, we might have problems and it can end up being unpleasant for many people. In such cases, we have to relax our rules a little bit and make room for improvisation. So many things matter and in this case, when we are out there on a vacation to a cold place, it is okay to relax and have a hot water bath but we can get back home and get back to our routine. This is where the flexibility is expected.

Sometimes life really throw to us what we least expect but with the nature of life, we still need to deal with it and make sure we overcome it

Your journey towards flexibility and adaptability is truly inspiring! Embracing change not only eases anxiety but also fosters personal growth.

Flexibility in everything matters especially when it comes to setting rules for ourselves. In fact, we would find it easier to balance things in the right way instead of being hard on ourselves or others around us.

That must be so hard during the hard times of COVID, as well as the knowing that you have to adapt to your old self where you used to follow all the rules you have set. But I am glad that you can adapt to the circumstances and can ease the anxiety yourself.

It is good to have some rules, and it is also nice to follow it, but at times, lives force us to change the rule, and break it a little, as nothing is set to white and black here in this world. : )
