There's always this sort of peace that shows its presence in your life when you are stable in life, especially when it is raining. With a cup of coffee in your hands or books as you watch the way the rain hit your window pane. I don't know about you, but for me, there's beauty in that.
It is one way to calm our hearts and think about the things we've overcome to get where we are right now. Watching the rain can bring in a lot of emotions for us. But when you aren't beat up by your past anymore, you look at those memories and smile because with them, you've learned to appreciate the mundane things around you now.
Healing isn't an easy thing especially if we lost someone close to us and while it started raining just now, I closed my windows and checked if the doors were locked then I sat down with my phone and then music came in.
I have been trying to access it after breakfast, but it has not been easy. My Internet connection has been a bully; switching off and on like a faulty light bulb, and it wasn't even raining then. However, when the rain came this evening and I was less stressed about my network connection, I started with a song that came to mind by Dean Lewis.
The first time I heard this song was when I lost a close member of my family a few months ago. With the rain, I thought I'd cry, you know, but for some reason, I felt peace. I came online, and my Internet connection seems better, and I just had to get the #YouTube version of it to share.
I actually don't know why I didn't cry because I remember crying so badly when it was midnight after her death. I cried for her and her children, but now, no more. Instead, I remembered her, acknowledged her once in a lifetime presence in my life, and knowing her kids were in safe hands, I couldn't help smiling. A sad smile, though. And I didn't stop listening to the music on repeat. Now that I look at it, it is a sad, beautiful song.
It made me appreciate the things that have gathered up to this moment more. Being grateful and at peace knowing I have a place for shelter and despite the heavy rain, I am not running around to place a bowl somewhere. It is kinda peaceful, and I am thankful for such peace.
Also, speaking about rainy days, I am sure you've heard statements like; "always prepare for rainy days". Well, whoever saw the need for that quote must have read the Bible a lot. Just like Warren Buffet said;
It is common knowledge that life won't be filled with a beautiful smell of roses but also gives us its torn as well, which is why we ought to be prepared. Let's build an ark financially instead of being a nuisance to others, which is why I can never understand people who say; ”God takes care of every child”. This statement has made some people keep producing when they have little finance, which ends up affecting the economy.
Don't give birth to what you can't train. Prepare ahead if your spouse is pregnant to foot hospital bills, buy the necessary things needed for both mother and child at home. Don't burden others with your shenanigans. Everyone has their problems.
They are things that can be helped if we prepare for them so prepare and don't expect others to pay what they didn't order.
In addition to the song shared, here are two more songs to go. The first one is an Indian song, and I loved it, hehe.
The other is a big addition to my music list. The perfect sync in the instruments as the rain does its job. It was beautiful watching the video. It was peaceful.
Oh, yeah. That's all for #threetunestuesday by @ablaze. I hope you had fun listening in and also getting the thought behind this to your understanding.
All videos used were gotten from #YouTube.
Still yours truly,
Balikis.
Thanks for reading and listening.
Peace be unto those who crave it and more to those who chase it away.
