with a long body, elegant golden color, and large, sharp sparkling eyes. After I approached it slowly, I realized this was no ordinary dragonfly—this was Anotogaster sieboldii, one of the largest dragonflies in Asia!

This dragonfly looks very calm, as if it is enjoying the wind blowing over a clear river flow. Every now and then he wiggled his wings a little, maybe he was preparing to fly or just feeling his balance on a branch that was starting to sway in the small current beneath him. I approached carefully, trying to capture it with my macro lens without disturbing it.

What's interesting is that, despite its large size and dashing appearance, this dragonfly is actually quite alert. As soon as I approached too quickly, it immediately flapped its wings and hovered a few meters before returning to perch elsewhere. It seems like he is watching his territory, because several times I saw him flying low over the water as if he was hunting for prey.

I watched for a few minutes before the dragonfly finally flew away, along the river flow surrounded by shady trees. This moment was truly memorable, because it's not every day that I get to meet a dragonfly this big in its natural habitat.

NOTE: I first wrote the article above in Indonesian, which is my own language, then I translated it using English with the help of Goggle.
