While I was busy observing the flowers, I saw a small insect with a very striking color—black with a bright yellow pattern. I immediately approached it and it turned out to be an insect from the Horia genus! Wow, this was the first time I had seen this type of insect directly in nature.
This insect was seen moving slowly above the flowers, perhaps looking for food or just stopping by. I observed it more closely, its body shape was indeed unique, especially its head which was rather large compared to its body. I immediately took my camera, attached a macro lens, and tried to take some photos while still keeping my distance so that the insect wouldn't escape.
Interestingly, this insect from the Horia genus is known to be related to the Meliponini bee or stingless bee. Their larvae are often found in the beehive. Unfortunately, I didn't have the chance to see the beehive around the location, but still, being able to find this insect was an extraordinary experience for me.
After I was satisfied taking pictures, I let the insect continue its activities. I felt so happy to be able to add one more type of insect to my observation list. My friend's field turned out to have many surprises!
