Happy new year hive collectors! 💃🥂
I do not have much socks in my wardrobe but I do have some handful that I would like to share with the hive collectors community. These socks ain't just socks, they each hold a story that they are willing to share. Sit back and enjoy (you can as well grab a popcorn 😁).
Remembering my childhood days, all I had were pristine white socks that had lace at the tip. My mom never allowed other colours for her girls. She took pride in dressing us up and clinging a white socks to our petite feet. As the eldest daughter, I had to bear with it especially when I saw other kids with printed coloured socks that looked so good. The socks on my feet looked good but only because of the lace at the tip.
When I got a bit of Independence and could now buy my own stuff, guess what....? I went for printed and patterned socks. Mom could only smile and look away because she knows that I'm a "grown girl" now 😁. This continued till I outgrew the need for
socks or so I thought.
In my country, it is quite unpopular to see adults putting on socks, especially the females. You only sight a socks on an adult female when there is something involved like dancing, walking around the yard or walking on a cold tiled floor.
My need for socks resurrected when I realized that I had a cold allergy. Yep, you heard that right. I cannot stand cold days and as such, I need to be with a socks in my bag during the rainy season.
I started off my socks journey with Mr blacky. That's how I address this socks because it is all balck and thick and oooh so warm when I wear it. In fact, *Mr Blacky makes my feet swaet in only about a few minutes.plus it is knee high and not so very comfortable.
Then there's Miss Cream cos its all cream and no stripe. This is my favourite of all my socks. I like it the most cos of its texture and colour. I feel that its colour blends with my skin tone a lot and my feet don't sweat at all when I'm wearing it. The second reason it's my favourite is due to the fact that I won it from a youth group competition I contested in some years ago. So seeing it reminds me of that victory.
Next on the list are the twins. I know the names are too cute for some socks but don't laugh yet 😁. I call them this because I bought them on the same day, at the same time, from the same store. It was a buy one get one free sales and I fell for it. Turns out that the price of both socks was the price of one (ain't nothing free, even in freetown).
One pair is horizontally stripped while the other is sun yellow with no stripes or pattern. I make use of them when I need to do some house cleaning and I'm too lazy to look for my flip flops.
The last but not least is the pinky socks. This socks lives up to its name and is all pink with no patterns as well. It is my second favourite socks because it is almost the same as my cream socks in texture and length. This one is my dancing socks, hehe.
So here it ends guys. The tour of my little socks collection. Hope you enjoy reading this post just as much as I enjoyed sharing my story with you all.
I'm hoping to get more socks into my cillection soon. Maybe I qill go for some flamingo patterned ones or some with 🎅 santa on it😂.
Thanks for reading to the end 🤗.
