Another 9-0 Brawl - but only 4 notable battles

in #splinterlands18 days ago

Good morning everyone! I finally made it through a brawl without any defeats, playing 6 out of 9 matches (3 guilds didn’t fill the fray). I’ll only show the battles that actually were a challenge, since a few players sent in Novice Teams into Silver frays, and that doesn’t make much for analysis.

First: Kelya vs. Kelya

Rules: Up to 11 and Weak Magic, 36 Mana.

My Line-Up Tactic: Noa the Just in front to evade Melee and reduce armor of opponents, with weapons training from the Kulu Mastermind. That one as second tank (high health, shield) and opportunity in the meantime. The Furious Chicken as decoy and weapons training, just in case. Isgald Vorst as Gladiator with Opportunity (goes great with Noa and the Kulu Mastermind). Hellondale for extra melee damage and revive (reviving with all the armor is very useful with weak magic). The Swamp Spitter to regenerate armor.

The enemies line-up wasn’t bad, but didn’t stand a chance – their damage was too scattered due to sneak and opportunity, and my decoy chicken worked perfectly.

Battle 2 – fighting 2 Gladiators

Rules: Noxious Fumes, Healed Out, Fire & Regret, 37 Mana

Brawl 2.JPG

Since everyone is poisoned, but quite a bit of Mana is available, I started with an Immune combination in the front, then a weapons trained scavenger, Rage and Krash, hoping that someone would die before the first round of poison so the scavenger survives, and that Krash gets enough kills to make a difference.

The enemy seemed to have not taken into account the no-heal ruleset, choosing Quora between two martyrs. Could’ve worked against a weaker enemy-set up, but not against mine. Round 2 was the end already.

Battle 3 – Weapons training making a difference

Rules: Fog of War, 20 Mana

I went for the Halfling Refugee as a cheap tank, and the dark arborist in second position in case of battling a lot of magic since he reflects that. Also, he reduces melee damage. Great card. I let Dusk train the chicken and the Ooze as cheap monsters, with the Ooze reducing the enemy’s speed. Since the ruleset is Fog of War, I could use the Soul Strangler at the end without any fear for it getting killed soon.

The enemy Tank went down right away, and it was only Usut and the Gladiator left – but Usut was not that easy to kill. The Gladiator actually got two kills before I brought down Usut, but as a ranged he was helpless afterwards.

Battle 4 – My Favorite this time

Battle 4 - Click here
Rules: 47 Mana, only melee
Brawl 2.0.JPG

I chose a risky tactic. As you can see, the enemy has a lot of opportunity and sneak, all his monsters can attack. Meanwhile, I went for only 4 of 6 able to attack. You can find a in depth analysis here:
