Another calculation post for Land! As an example, we’ll use my two plots in La’Telda. One is producing Grain, and the other is producing SPS.

Grain Stats

All cards have a 10% bonus due to their Splinter.

13.JPG

Production per hour: 68.391 Grain
Grain Cost/Hour: 31.081 Grain
Grain Tax/Hour: 6.8391 Grain

Net per hour: 30,471 Grain

Energy Demand: 5.655 Energy (staked DEC)
Total Card Value: $15.46
Production Points: 3419 PP

SPS Stats

3 of 5 cards have a 10% bonus due to their splinter.

Production per hour: 0.053 SPS
Grain Cost/Hour: 30.728 Grain
SPS Tax/Hour: 0.0053 SPS

Net per hour: -30.728 Grain; + 0,0477 SPS

Comparison

Efficiency / APY

As you can see, my grain production almost completely covers my SPS production. The little that is left I transfer through the Pool from time to time. More interesting is the efficiency, the interest I make – it’s not really that good. Total investment was $20 for the two land plots, $10 for the two power cores, 30$ for the cards and 10$ staked DEC, makes a total of 70$ - and the result is 0,0477 SPS per hour, 1,1448 SPS per day, 417 SPS per year – around $3,50 per year, so around 5% APY. Not counting the time for calculating and spending setting the whole thing up. Also, I got lucky and bought the land very cheap with productions plants set up and building in a box (which might be useful some day).

Energy

Not that even though the SPS plant requires more energy, it provides less production points. This is due to the fact that I have 2 neutral cards on the SPS plot, and those do not get any bonus there. Always try to get the right cards for the right plot to get that bonus. If I used cards from a bonus splinter, I would get more PP for the same energy – but that’s another investment, and it’s working okay as it is.

Cards

I mainly used Beta-Rare cards, and a few Beta-Common cards, since those have the best balance between price and production points. See also: https://peakd.com/hive-13323/@beelzael/calculating-land-which-cards-to-buy

When you buy cards, be patient, and calculate before you buy. If a high level card is cheap at the moment, it sometimes makes sense to just buy that one card and not fill up all the slots on the land.

I hope this helps someone to set up their land. 5% APY is not the hightest, but it also depends on the SPS price, land price, card price, DEC price... I got most of my stuff quite cheap, because I was patient. Prices might change again though, since Land 1.75 is being talked up again - but if it's delayed again, prices might fall. Maybe I'll get some more then.

So far, so good! Any comments and ideas are always welcome, and feel free to leave your own articles in the comment section.

Thank you, have a great day!
