Welcome to another Splinterlands battle analysis! I hope you enjoy the content, let’s dive right in.
You’re looking at a Novice League Modern format. Rules are Heavy Hitters and Equal Opportunity, Life and Death splinters, and 23 Mana.

As you can see, we both went for the Astral Entity, Usut and the Marksrat – but there’s a very important difference in the third monster and positioning. While we both put the marksrat in second position to be killed first and boost the first and third monster, my opponent put Usut in the back (I imagine he wants him to do a lot of bloodlust and become invincible before getting in tank position), while I put Usut in the front. Why? It’s a low mana game, which means low attack, which means for me it’s better to have a very sturdy tank in front position.
Then, the main difference. While I chose to exploit the heavy hitter ruleset, using the Revealer and his Stun in third position, the opponent chose the Monk in first position. Now, that seems good for my Usut, since Usut is flying and has dodge thanks to the Astral Entity. </div-justify">
So, it begins. The monk missest Usut, my stun goes nicely on the Marksrat, and the enemy Usut kills my Marksrat for the first time – free bonus for all!
In the second round, their Marksrat gets killed for the first time, and mine for the second time – again by Usut. Things are heating up quickly. My monsters now have +2 stats, and their Usut already +3 – not good!
But there’s a catch becoming visible in Round 3 – my revealer has 6 lifepoints, and Usut 5 attackpoints. Hence, the Revealer survives Usut’s attack, kills the Monk, and my Usut kills the Marksrat. Now, the enemy Usut stands against Usut and the Revealer, with +4 stats.
But it’s still not decided – the enemy Usut has 6 attack, and my has 12 life, meaning, he’d be killed with two shots. But here comes the Stun – just in time to save the day (Ha. Ha. Ha. Ugh.). The enemy Usut would’ve won my over without it, since his speed is superior to my monsters’. But the Revealer finally landed a stun, and my Usut made the finishing move dealing double damage.
