I watched an advert one time on Facebook signifying less is more and analogue is better. In that advert, we have two neighbors a male and a female. The male has this really cool smart home where he can activate anything with voice command. But the female has the normal everyday home you wake up to and get things going or working by turning on switches manually.

While it was all fun and games at the beginning for the man with the smart home and voice command; running on his thread, regulating his cooker in the kitchen and the television in the sitting room, something happened. The coffee he was drinking while on the treadmill spilled and the digital control started to malfunction.

It was like all devices were connected, so while he was trying to regulate the treadmill as it started over speeding, the television noise got too loud and the fire from the gas cooker got so high his food caught fire. His neighbor, however, came back jogging from the outdoors and just as she was about to enter her house, she saw the man struggling with his devices through his see through glass walls.

In another video, both neighbors were going out, our digital guy did the voice command thing, and his garage opened. His car drove out by itself as it's a self-driving car. He gave his destination, causing the car to zoom off, it was pretty cool.

His neighbor however did the analogue opening and closing of her garage and driving herself out. Our digital guy went for a dental appointment. He had some dental stuff in his mouth which affected how he spoke. After the appointment, he got in his car and tried activating it with voice command, but the car did not respond...

Next from the car was sorry, I couldn't process the voice. Not long after, it started raining and our guy had to use public transport home. He got home drenched, cold and shivering. It was still raining heavily and as he shivered. He managed to pull himself together and did the voice command for his house to let him in, but it was the same issue he had with his car, the smart device could not recognize his voice.

While he was there yelling out of frustration and trying to force the door open, his analogue neighbor drove in. As she was about to drive into her garage, she paused, shook her head and watched him struggle with his house.

Now let's go over to the prompt my dream smart home gadget. This prompt reminded me of the above advert, I don't know what they were trying to market but you see that soft life they were trying so hard to demarket? It is exactly how I envisage my dream home to be.

Yesterday I got back from work and my whole body ached.
That moment, I seriously wished that I could own a smart home where from the door I am already giving command for everything to happen. I'm instructing the water heater to start heating, while I heat up my food and do a voice command for a slow music to come up while I get on with my evening activities.

Imagine if we could literally speak words into life? I would have spoken my dream home into existence. As a workaholic, I would never pass off a home where all I get to do is just to exist and give command for whatever I want to happen. But then what is my dream home without Optimus? It would be such a delight to wake up every morning to a nice breakfast, neatly arranged outfit for the day, a clean home, clean kitchen, a delightful ambiance and after I get ready, I get in a self-driving car that takes me to work. Hopefully, all this will be a dream come through some day.

The closest that I have come to experiencing a smart home gadget was a music device that supplies music to every speaker in the ceiling of the house. If you don't want the music in your room, you could simply turn it off from the wall switch and then of course a washing machine that does both washing and drying of which after drying, the clothes are automatically stretched and straightened. One just folds from the lines and wear whenever. I have also seen a smart home device that tells the current level of electricity. While some people might want to feel that owning these gadgets would cause one to be lazy, I beg to differ as I am of the opinion that it will save time and increase productivity. I mean these gadgets need to be serviced and maintained right? well there you have it; one must be productive in other to maintain them.
