Telegram was always a place I personally hated using. I preferred discord over it as telegram just seemed like an unorganized mess that was impossible to keep up with. However that didn't stop millions from using the platform around the world and it seems like most where from Russia and the EU for the most part.
Later came larger adoption quickly the a successful crypto token called NOT coin was released with success and then sparked many copycat programs to launch on telegram as well. Tap to earn was in full swing.
This launched a new craze with speculation of air drop crypto tokens and perhaps some new platforms from the successful NOT coin. This ended up catching the attention of millions. However to this day I personally haven't received a single air drop token and many of these platforms already shut down. Most of them became money grabs to sell you "upgrades" to tap and earn faster via TON coin buys and also cash or sending them to youtube video to get millions of views for ad revenue.
If you launched one of these projects yourself you most likely made out great and hopefully you do honestly mean to drop a crypto token at some point.
Breaking News
Telegram founder Pavel Durov was arrested in France on a number of charges. Those charges being... terrorism, trafficking, conspiracy, fraud, money laundering and more. For sure not a short list at all.
Let's be real telegram was the wild west and seems to be a hot bed for rather negative things and pretty heavily dealing with Russia in which France and other countries would be very keen to try and shut down a social media place like this which constantly shares war updates etc.
Toncoin has also taken a hit which was launched on this platform. Nearly down 15% on the news so far.
The other changes seem to stem from cyber bullying to other cases mainly from not being monitored. Which personally I find crazy that governments especially in the UK and the EU now allow for people to be physically arrested just for something they post online. It's downright wild and clearly shows freedom of speech is quickly leaving and governments are becoming more oppressive on it's own people. While governments feel this will be a good thing over time it will only enrage the population and then lead to open rebellion which is a cycle we constantly repeat over and over and over again.
So what's news?
We will have to happen with the CEO and if the governments next target is to take down the platform and take down TON coin itself which could be in the illegal money laundering and transferring that happens. My guess is TON coin is going to be under some fire for a while and it's most likely not going to end well.
