Did I share this before I am not sure, well I still have it in my camera roll and after a post I usually remember to delete them so I would hope not 🤣
Anyway I did some liver of silver artificial coin toning, this is a practice that is looked down by many in the coin collecting space I invite those folks to look down on deez nuts ... got em
The test subjects are some 50% 1968 quarters and a dime, I put in each coin in individually into a bath of warm water mixed with some liver of sulfur then I pulled them out when I liked the tone and tossed it into a bath of baking soda and water to neutralize the reaction.
One quarter got a got the goldish down and the other has that nice rainbow effect.
Then for the dime we did some further manipulation so I kept it in the bath for the longest black is the final color change in the toning process, then I took this jewelry polishing thingy that is like some super fine sandpaper
I used it to remove some of the tarnish bringing back the silver shine under I tried to only bring back the queen and the rim and it turned out nice it did make the queen look more evil 🤣
Anyway that is about it it for this post I will mess around with this toning stuff in the future and be sure to share with you all.
