The Summer of WOO event is under way and the competition to win a slice of the 600 HIVE pool can seem to be pretty daunting for new players.
Take for example, one new(er) WOO player posted this loss rate in the WOO Discord. 4 losses out of 5 can be pretty disheartening. However, do understand that there are a pretty limited number of players at the moment since the game has just launched. Not only that, quite a good number of players are from the earliest and most loyal backers of WOO who have bought, invested, and held on to their assets for almost 2 years!
Things will definitely improve as the devs continue tweaking and making more improvements to the game. Take this message from @bookerman for example.
"The ranking system isn't in existence yet. Tobias is currently working on an Elo rating system that will match you with users who are much closer to your skill level. Right now it's a free for all. You're being matched with users that have been here for a year + gaining assets and leveling their NFTs.
But, the nice thing about the Summer of WOO is everyone who participates gets a slice of the $Hive reward pool and there are tons of events we have planned that get assets into new users hands."
A proper ranking system will eventually be in place and players won't be as likely to face lopsided matches in the future. I would assume that this is still dependant on the total number of players in the game at any moment of time however.
The key takeaway everyone should take notice of is that every single participant will help themselves to some of that 600 HIVE in the pot for this month's Summer of WOO event!
As per the latest stats from the table standings thus far, we even have one player who has managed to win only 1 match, but that has qualified him for 3.51 $HIVE! 🤑
TLDR? Don't be afraid of losing matches. As long as you take part in the game, you will already have won!
