After days of cloudy overcast and rain, we finally experienced a bit of sunshine! ☀️ So we decided to take advantage of the pleasant weather and went out for a little family photoshoot.

With Halloween approaching, it only seemed appropriate that we wear our costumes. Our oldest daughter went through the entire catalogue of costumes and decided that she wanted to be a firefighter (complete with hat and firetruck! 😄). Our youngest daughter is going to be Snow White, but unfortunately she fell asleep for this photoshoot, so we will have to get her next time!
I don't plan on dressing up for Halloween, but I stumbled upon this old clown costume in the closet, so I decided to get dressed up as well.
Con Halloween acercándose, nos pareció apropiado que usáramos nuestros disfraces. Nuestra hija mayor revisó todo el catálogo de disfraces y decidió que quería ser bombero (¡completo con sombrero y camión de bomberos! 😄). Nuestra hija menor será Blancanieves, pero desafortunadamente se quedó dormida para esta sesión de fotos, ¡así que tendremos que buscarla la próxima vez!
No planeo disfrazarme para Halloween, pero me topé con este viejo disfraz de payaso en el armario, así que decidí disfrazarme también.
This first photo turned out perfectly ✨ This was one of those photos where I was struck with inspiration beforehand and knew exactly how I wanted it captured. I told my husband I would have my back facing towards him while I looked down the hill. I wanted the hill to be captured in the background, and this is what my husband gave me ❤️
I wanted the overall impression to be obvious: a clown, brandishing a knife, looking down at any potential victims that may be waiting down below...

Le dije a mi esposo que estaría de espaldas a él mientras miraba colina abajo. Quería que el cerro quedara captado de fondo, y esto es lo que me regaló mi marido ❤️
Quería que la impresión general fuera obvia: un payaso blandiendo un cuchillo, mirando a las posibles víctimas que pudieran estar esperando abajo...
This was the front shot. I wore leggings with blood splatters, and I wish I had done a better job of utilizing them.

And whatta wonderful stroke of luck! On the way to our photoshoot, we happened to come across a film crew that were painting over a tunnel for a movie scene. One of the painters happened to ask our oldest daughter what her name was (Kiva). She was too shy and nervous to take photos while everyone was there, so on the way home we took photos of Kiva with her name!
¡Y qué maravilloso golpe de suerte! De camino a nuestra sesión de fotos, nos encontramos con un equipo de filmación que estaba pintando un túnel para una escena de película. Uno de los pintores le preguntó a nuestra hija mayor cómo se llamaba (Kiva). Ella era demasiado tímida y nerviosa para tomar fotos mientras todos estaban allí, así que de camino a casa tomamos fotos de Kiva con su nombre.
