Sunset & Windmills: A 5-Minute Drone Magic Session

in #hive-1861412 months ago

Hey there, fellow drone and photography enthusiasts!

Last evening, I found myself cruising down the highway to pick up my daughter. You know the drill – late, annoyed, cursing under your breath at the endless stretch of asphalt. But then I hit the jackpot: the windmill-dense area. This place is always a sight to behold, but at sunset? Oh man, it’s like nature and technology had a love child, and it’s glorious.

Now, being the savvy photographer and drone enthusiast I am (yeah, I’m tooting my own horn, just roll with it), I had my DJI Mini 3 Pro handy. I mean, back in my day, we had disposable cameras and hoped for the best. Now, we’ve got drones that make you feel like Spielberg with an unlimited budget. Times have changed, my friends.

So, with a solid five minutes to spare before dad duty called, I took the next exit, parked the car, and let the drone fly. And let me tell you, those five minutes turned into a visual feast. The sky painted with hues of orange and pink, the silhouettes of windmills standing tall like guardians of the horizon – it was poetry in motion. Or, you know, just a really dope sight.

Here’s the lowdown on the shots I snagged:

Ground to Sky Symphony: The first shot was a ground-level perspective with the windmill just peeking over the tall grass, the setting sun casting a golden glow. It’s like nature was saying, "Hey, check out my new Insta filter."

DJI_0747-HDR.jpg

Highway Guardians: The second image took a higher perspective, capturing the line of windmills along the highway, blending the man-made with the natural. It’s like watching giants overseeing the land, keeping it eco-friendly and all that jazz.

DJI_0772-HDR.jpg

Sunset Embrace: The third shot was a close-up, capturing the sun’s rays kissing the windmill blades. It’s one of those shots that makes you go, “Wow, maybe renewable energy isn’t just a bunch of hot air.”

DJI_0786-HDR.jpg

Distant Dream: The fourth image stretched out the perspective, showing a vast line of windmills fading into the horizon. It’s the kind of shot that makes you appreciate the blend of technology and landscape – a visual reminder that we’re moving towards a greener future, one windmill at a time.

DJI_0762-HDR.jpg

Golden Finale: The final shot captured the windmills basking in the last light of day. The sky, a canvas of vibrant colors, made the perfect backdrop for these towering structures. It’s a shot that screams serenity and power all at once.

For all you drone lovers and shutterbugs out there, take this as a reminder: always have your gear ready. You never know when you’ll stumble upon a scene that begs to be captured. And don’t just look at things, see them. There’s a difference, and once you get it, every drive, every walk, every moment becomes an opportunity to create something amazing.

So, next time you’re out and about, don’t just pass by – stop, look, and unleash your inner Spielberg. Your DJI Mini 3 Pro and the universe’s magic are all you need. Just saying.

Keep flying, keep snapping, and keep finding those moments that make you go, "Damn, that’s a shot!"

Cheers,
The Dad Who Ditched the Car for a Drone

I wish I would have started this journey when I was living the vanlife in some of the most beautiful country I have ever seen in the US. Missed opportunity. But I'll get in the air soon and start hitting some good spots. I live on a 400 acre farm, so I have a ton of space to practice.

Absolutely!!! You’ll have loads of fun indeed!
Would’ve been cool combined with the vanlife as well!

And yep, they sure do! ;-)

you're most welcome big brother

Nice-N-quick drone shots, @borniet! It's pretty cool that you can get it in the air so quickly! On the subject of those kind of windmills and "green energy" in general, don't get me started...lol! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Lol!!!
Ok, I want to totally get you started!!!

Haha...this may be somewhat long. Like most things labeled as 'green' or 'sustainable', the reality is actually quite different. Let's go down a list of issues with them.

1.) It takes more energy to produce them than they generate in their entire lifespan.

2.) Speaking of their lifespan, it's quite short, especially for the blades. When they no longer function, they are sent to windmill graveyards, filled with innumerable of them.

  1. They are quite fragile, and are very often destroyed by high winds. Imagine that, a windmill breaking in the wind...lol.

4.) They produce an ultra-low frequency that often makes people that live near the sick. Those same frequencies also have a deliterious effect oh wildlife, especially birds.

5.) On the subject of birds, they kill lots of them, the most notable being large predatory birds like eagles and hawks. They get whacked by the blades, and plumet to earth.

Those are the ones that came to my mind at the moment. So many 'green-energy technologies' are not at all effective in the way that they are implemented. Small scale works pretty well with things like solar and windmills, but every large-scale implementation, sooner or later, is a disaster. The words 'sustainable' and 'green' are more of the pretty-and-flowery ones used to push dark agendas forward. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Unfortunately, as soon as money is to be made, they start abusing it. To earn on the back of the population, and th push that very same population into a certain direction.
Again indeed, I am totally unsurprised by how unsurprised I am!

I just noticed how poorly that Ecency rendered my numbered list. Ugh...lol! Indeed, they make people pay for their own enslavement and worse! I find myself surprisingly unsurprised by your lack of surprise. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
