Almost mid-February. That weird time of year when the calendar says winter is almost over, but the weather says, “Hold my sleet.” And me? I’m stuck in a desperate daydream loop, longing for blue skies, green grass, and the freedom to send my drone soaring into the heavens without freezing my fingers off. You know it’s bad when you start staring at old drone shots like they’re a long-lost love.
Case in point: the photos you’re seeing here. Let’s talk about them, because they’re memories, not just photos. Back when the world was lush, cows roamed the fields with their "I'm-so-confused-right-now" expressions, and the sky didn’t feel like it was judging you with its endless gray monotony.
Look at that first shot. A winding track through the grass, like a cow’s version of the Indy 500. And speaking of cows, shoutout to my MVP in frame three—just vibing, unbothered, living the dream. Her vibe is a mood: “Why stress? Just eat grass.” Honestly, this cow gets life better than most of us.
Then there’s the aerial shot of the road cutting through the fields, so clean it looks like Mother Nature hired a graphic designer. I can almost hear the swooshing sound of my drone cutting through the air. Almost. That road isn’t just a road—it’s a metaphor for freedom. It’s also probably the only place you’d find me running if I ever decided running was a thing I do (spoiler: it’s not).
But back to reality. The new drone—my NEO—is sitting there, practically gathering dust. It’s like buying a brand-new pair of sneakers and then getting hit with three months of non-stop rain. Sure, I could take it out now, but who wants to fly a drone when you’re dodging snowflakes and silently praying your batteries don’t freeze? (Which they did while I tried again a few days ago)
So, for now, I’ll stick to scrolling through these throwback shots, reminding myself that spring is coming. Soon, the grass will be greener, the skies will be bluer, and I’ll be out there, flying the NEO like I’m the Maverick of drone pilots. Until then, stay warm, keep dreaming, and remember: even cows know how to chill. 🐄
