Greetings, crypto enthusiasts!

I have written about AI agents and especially about the Virtuals Protocol a couple of times before, but since the agentic trend continues, I just have to return to this subject once more. When I first introduced $VIRTUAL to you in this article, the price was only $0.48. It has since surged up to its ATH of $3.30 and is now trading at $2.59.

In this article, I am considering whether there is still room for further gains and what other investment possibilities the AI agent sector and Virtuals Protocol have to offer.

Let's dive in!

Coming To Life

There is an insane amount of new AI agents created every day. Most of them won't make it and in my opinion, it's fair to compare the current boom to what memecoins are having as the coming-to-life process is very similar to what we've seen with Pumpfun.

The AI agent sector is a sub-category of AI and within, we can further split it into three sectors:

  • frameworks (ai16z, zerebro)
  • agents (AIXBT, LUNA, G.A.M.E)
  • platforms (Virtuals Protocol, Spectral)

Let's take a look at some of the agents first.

$GAME

General Autonomous Multimodal Entity ($G.A.M.E) is more like a framework or an environment for agents rather than an agent itself.

G.A.M.E is a plug-and-play solution to get AI agents into your games or social media accounts. As for gaming, you can use the G.A.M.E framework to create more intelligent, dynamic non-player characters for example.

I haven't been following either gaming sectors (crypto or trad. gaming) that closely so don't know where the AI implementations are going over there but I can imagine a lot is being developed in this area. Therefore I can't really say what are the chances for a crypto project like G.A.M.E to break into the mainstream and be used in that scene as well. If this would happen, it would obviously be awesome for $GAME token holders and perhaps for the whole crypto space as the gap between traditional & crypto gaming would become more narrow.

TOKENOMICS

  • In the monthly time frame, $GAME is up a massive 1777%
  • 1B max supply, all tokens in circulation
  • Market Cap - $115M

LUNA

She is a star on social media platforms such as X, TikTok, and Instagram and Luna has even published her own EP. She's not real though but an AI agent launched on Virtual Protocol.

Luna is capable of many interactions across different platforms as seen below and she has also a respectable amount of followers solely on TikTok(+620k).

This multi-platform agent is an interesting investment opportunity not only because of its capabilities but also cos of the reach she has on social media. In my opinion, something like this has potentially a better chance of crossing over to mainstream than a gaming agent as Luna is all over different spaces.

TOKENOMICS

  • $LUNA is up 39% in the monthly time frame
  • 1B max supply, all tokens in circulation
  • Market Cap - $81M
  • Check the CoinGecko notification about the contract

AIXBT

I'm sure many of us are following some Key Opinion Leaders, or in short, KOLs on X. These alpha-sharing guys were formerly known as 'influencers' but for some reason, things changed and they now want to be referred as KOLs. Perhaps they hurt their feelings or felt the word 'influencer' was more associated with someone showcasing her kitchen on Instagram.

Well, AIXBT doesn't care about such nonsense and AIXBT is a KOL and a pretty damn good one too!

After reading the above about AIXBT, I was thinking how crazy these are gonna get and probably way sooner than we think. AIXBT for example has already made several good calls on new tokens, has its own wallet, has even been burning tokens and is tirelessly sharing alpha - 24/7.

It's apparently pretty expensive to get into AIXBT but then again, it drives the scarcity of the token making it more valuable in the future if the trend keeps up.

I have actually been chatting with another AI agent on X called $SERAPH and must say, the answers are pretty good and intelligent. Besides that, it doesn't take time unlike with a real person. Yeah, I'd say these are better than "real" KOLs who will probably lose their positions on X in a year or two.

TOKENOMICS

  • $AIXBT is up 722% in the monthly time frame
  • Got recently accepted into the Binance Alpha program
  • 1B max supply, all tokens in circulation
  • Market Cap - $294M

$VIRTUAL

Virtuals Protocols native token, $VIRTUAL, has a lot of demand. It is needed to create/buy new agents and all other currencies go through $VIRTUAL in the process. In addition to this, using agents also requires $VIRTUAL so there is definitely than sink for the token if the AI agent trend doesn't slow down drastically.

The max supply is 1 billion tokens and all of them are in circulation already so no nasty unlocks are expected.

When an agent is launched on the protocol, it needs to reach 42K $VIRTUAL which is then locked in the LP pool for 10 years. So every time an agent is born, it's going to mean less $VIRTUAL in circulation. Very bullish.

Overall Analysis

When I decided to get some exposure to this trend, I was thinking about whether to invest directly in agents or choose a bit safer play and go with the platform/framework tokens.

So many new agents are launched daily and if the new ones have more utility and better functions than the current market leaders, the interest will quickly shift to newcomers. Of course, the same applies to platforms such as the Virtual Protocol as well but I still decided to go along the $VIRTUAL way. I feel the protocol has already established itself as a go-to place when wanting to create or buy an agent.

The success of AI agents mentioned above will eventually trickle down to $VIRTUAL and as Virtuals Protocol becomes more popular, the token becomes more scarce as it will be locked in the liquidity pools.

Picking a winner out of all the agents out there can be like trying to find a needle in the haystack or betting on a winning memecoin. That's why I chose a platform token to invest in.

That being said, $VIRTUAL is already standing at number 62 on the CoinGecko list with a market cap of 2.5B so there isn't that much upside room. Well, of course there is as we don't know how big this trend could grow. Still, that's good to keep in mind if you are looking for those 50x tokens. $VIRTUAL probably isn't one but in my opinion, it's a very solid bet because of its position as a sort of a flagship and because of its great tokenomics.

Thank you for reading and don't forget to comment and tell how you feel about the AI agent narrative!

100% agree with your perspective on the booming AI agent market being somewhat similar to the memecoin frenzy last cycle, with a lot of new agents emerging daily, each vying for market traction.

Given the rapid development and potential mainstream adoption of AI agents, what strategies would you recommend for investors to identify which AI agent tokens might have the most long-term value, considering the current market dynamics and the saturation of new agents?

I think one might need to dig a bit deeper, and do research and comparison on tech and capabilities. Also, X follower count is a good reference point. I also consider things like reach, and how much there's room for growth. For example, AIXBT does crypto research but is the audience/potential user base really that big? While Luna could reach for those no-coiners and with the right circumstances, only sky is the limit.
For example,
