Greetings Splinterlands community! I welcome you to my post dedicated to the community engagement challenge that this week is focused on presenting a tutorial for new entrants. And I want to take this opportunity to make a post dedicated to the importance of clans, tournaments and the importance of gladius cards since I entered this stage of the game very late and no one helped me, I want to leave this guide as a form of help. Let's get started!

Y quiero aprovechar esta oportunidad para hacer un post dedicado a la importancia de los clanes, los torneos y la importancia de las cartas gladius ya que yo entré muy tarde a esta etapa del juego y nadie me ayudó quiero dejar esta guía como una forma de ayuda. 🔱 Guilds an opportunity to grow in Splinterlands/Los gremios una oportunidad para crecer en Splinterlands
Splinterlands is much more than a simple game where we enter battles as automatons, this is a game that fosters relationships between different players to create a really solid community. In that sense, guilds are the opportunity to meet other players/hivers and grow not only in the game but in the hive network as was my case.
Splinterlands es mucho más que un simple juego donde nos ponemos a ingresar batallas como autómatas, este es un juego que que propicia las relaciones entre los distintos jugadores para crear así una comunidad realmente sólida. En ese sentido, los gremios son la oportunidad para conocer otros jugadores/hivers y crecer no solo en el juego sino en la red de hive como fue mi caso.
So the first thing we need to do is find a clan that is in line with our status. If we are starting guilds in the middle or lower rankings, that is where we should start. If we already have a lot of experience in the game, we can choose clans located higher up in the top to opt for greater growth as a player and get better rewards.
Entonces lo primero que debemos hacer es ubicar un clan que esté de acuerdo a nuestro estatus, si estamos comenzando gremios en los rankings intermedios o bajos es donde debemos comenzar y si ya tenemos una alta experiencia en el juego podemos optar por clanes ubicados más arriba en el top para optar por un mayor crecimiento como jugador y conseguir mejores recompensas.
So each clan will have its particular requirements, some more than others because depending on the level of the clan will be the type of requirements. This is because there is a classification in the clans that depends on how developed the buildings are in each clan. These buildings confer advantages such as discounts on packs and % bonus for victory in ranked games. In conclusion there are many benefits to belonging to one.
Entonces cada clan tendrá sus requerimientos particulares, unos más que otros porque dependiendo del nivel del clan será el tipo de requisitos. Esto es así porque existe una clasificación en los clanes que depende de cuan desarrollado estén los edificios en cada clan. Estos edificios confieren ventajas como descuentos en packs y % de bono por victoria en las partidas clasificatorias. En conclusión tiene muchos beneficios pertenecer a uno.
For example, I belong to the Peakmonsters Hurricane clan and we have the goal of taking the Arena to the last level and that requires a large investment that is excessive for one person, therefore this requires the effort of everyone contributing with a contribution. In our case, it is every time we finish a cycle of brawls.
Por ejemplo yo que pertenezco al clan Peakmonsters Hurricane tenemos la meta de llevar la Arena al último nivel y eso requiere de una gran inversión que es excesivo para una persona por tanto esto exige del esfuerzo de todos contribuyendo con un aporte. En nuestro caso es cada vez que terminamos un ciclo de bralws.
We do this through guild points (GP), which we buy in the get GP tab and can be paid with Dec or credits. The interesting thing is that these GP are linked to your account and if you leave the clan you get back 90% of the GP you invested or you can also donate it permanently to the clan.
Esto lo hacemos através de los puntos de gremio (GP), los compramos en la pestaña get GP y pueden pagarse con Dec o con créditos. Lo interesante es que estos GP quedan enlazados a tu cuenta y si te retiras del clan te retornan el 90% de los GP que invertiste o también puedes donarlo permanentemente al clan.
Brawls
Now, the most interesting aspect of the Guilds is that Splinterlands proposes a kind of tournament between guilds with rewards that will allow the growth of the clan and of each member who has participated in the so-called Brawls. When these tournaments begin there is a first stage to choose the type of fight we are going to participate in. In my case I am assigned to the battles in the gold league with all the regular cards available.
Ahora, el aspecto más interesante en los Gremios es que Splinterlands plantea una especie de torneo entre gremios con recompensas que permitirán el crecimiento del clan y de cada miembro que haya participado en las llamadas Brawls. Cuando estos torneos comienzan tiene una primera etapa para escoger el tipo de refriega que vamos a participar en mi caso estoy asignado a las batallas en la liga de oro con todas las cartas regulares disponibles.
Rewards/Recompensas
At the end of each Brawl and depending on our position, the guild will be rewarded with a certain amount of Crowns useful for upgrading buildings and each particular member who participated in merits, which is a token to buy packs and sps, which is the governance token of the game.
Al final de cada Brawl y dependiendo de nuestra posición el gremio será recompensado con cierta cantidad de Coronas útiles para upgradear los edificios y cada miembro particular que participó en méritos que es un token para comprar packs y sps que es el token de gobernanza del juego.

What purpose do merits have? This is a token that is linked to the account, they cannot be sold or transferred, their purpose is to buy mainly the Gladius pack but also other items such as power and bloodstones that increase our chances of obtaining golden and legendary gladius cards.

Este es un token que esta enlazado a la cuenta, no se pueden vender y tampoco transferir, su propósito es para comprar principalmente los Gladius pack pero también otros objetos como power y bloodstones que aumentan nuestras probabilidades de obtener cartas gladius doradas y legendarias.
Each Gladius Pack costs 2000 merits and brings us 5 Gladius cards, previously merits were only obtained in Brawls but now they can be obtained in reward chests. Just now I bought 1 pack with merits obtained from these chests to show you what these cards are like.

Wow this pack turned out really good I needed just those 2 rare cards! As you can see there are 5 cards per pack. We are talking about approximately 32 gladius cards in the collection of these cards. Each Splinter comes with 2 common gladius, 2 rare, 1 epic and 1 legendary. The exception to this rule are the neutral and dragon classes that only have 1 legendary gladius card each.
Wow este pack salió realmente bueno necesitaba justo esas 2 cartas raras! Como puedes son 5 cartas por packs. Estamos hablando de aproximadamente 32 cartas gladius la colección de estas cartas. Cada Splinter viene con 2 gladius comunes, 2 rara, 1 épica y 1 legendaria. La excepción a esta norma son las clases neutrales y dragón que solo cuentan con 1 carta gladius legendaria cada una.
These cards, unlike the different editions put up for sale, cannot be sold or transferred to other players. They can be burned to obtain merits but the idea is to accumulate these cards and gradually level them up. Another difference that these cards have is that absolutely all of them have the bloodlust ability, this ability allows the gladius card to increase all its statistics as it eliminates cards from the opponent.
Estas cartas a diferencia de las distintas ediciones puestas a la venta, no se pueden vender ni transferir a otros jugadores. Pueden quemarse para obtener méritos pero la idea es acumular estas cartas e irlas subiendo de nivel gradualmente. Otra diferencia que tienen estas cartas es que absolutamente todas tienen la habilidad bloodlust, esta habilidad le permite a la carta gladius aumentar todas sus estadísticas a medida que va eliminando cartas del oponente.

The potential of these cards quickly became apparent and generated great enthusiasm for the game and interest in belonging to a clan, however there was always the interest in creating a mechanism to transfer or summon these cards in ranked games.

This is how a ruleset first appeared that allowed us to summon one of these cards on the battlefield and later Summoners with the Conscript ability that allowed us to bring one of these cards to the battlefield. These were summoners that initially came in reward chests and although their release has ended, they can still be obtained on the market.
Fue así como primeramente apareció una ruleset que nos permitía invocar una de estas cartas en el campo de batalla y posteriormente Invocadores con la habilidad Conscript que permitían traer al campo de batalla una de estas cartas, fueron invocadores que inicialmente venían en los cofres de recompensa y aunque ya se terminó su emisión, todavía pueden obtenerse en el mercado.
Next I am going to share with you 2 battles where I make use of these cards, the first with the ruleset and the second using the summoner. With this I want to highlight the importance of having these cards to grow in the game, particularly in the modern format where there are not so many editions.
A continuación voy a compartirte 2 batallas donde hago uso de estas cartas, la primera con la ruleset y la segunda usando el invocador. Con esto quiero destacar la importancia que tiene contar con estas cartas para crecer en el juego, particularmente en el formato moderno donde no se cuentan con tantas ediciones.
⚔️1st Battle/1era Batalla: Gladius Ruleset⚔️

In this first battle we will explore the potential of a gladius summoned on the battlefield through the Ruleset: Are you not entertained. All splinters can be chosen except for the dragon class, due to the low amount of mana our best option is the water class. Let's see the lineup below.

🧙 Summoner/ Invocador: Kelya Frendul
Speed and defense are the key elements in this battle, whoever hits first and eliminates the first units will win this battle, that's why Kelya Frendul is our best option, she increases our defense and speed of the whole team by +1.

🎴 Xenith Monk
There is a possibility of being attacked by magic units, this is a high possibility due to the little league ruleset. Our best option as a tank is Xenith Monk, his Void ability makes him resistant to magic and the possibility of healing himself ensures that this tank will be able to withstand a lot of damage.
Existe la posibilidad de ser atacador por unidades mágicas, esta es una posibilidad alta debido a la ruleset little league. 🎴 Tide Biter
Tide Biter is an excellent support in the second position, his high speed and damage make him a fearsome unit and his low mana cost allows us to optimize the number of units we can place on the battlefield.

🎴 Igor Darkspear
This is a card of crucial importance, Igor Darkspear has a low mana cost, great speed, good damage and finally the ability to stun the enemy, this together with the possibility of having the initiative of the combat by giving the first blow make this card a strategic piece especially in this type of low mana battles.
Esta es una carta de crucial importancia, Igor Darkspear tiene un bajo costo de mana, una gran velocidad, buen daño y por último la capacidad de aturdir al enemigo, esto junto a la posibilidad de tener la iniciativa del combate dando el primer golpe convierten a esta carta en una pieza estratégica sobre todo en este tipo de batallas de bajo mana.
🎴 Alfredo
Alfredo is the standout card for this battle, any gladius card with a very low mana cost like this one is a card you should take seriously, although at level 1 it has quite low stats, at level 5 this card has good speed, damage and develops the ability to attack from the first position, if we add to all this that it has the Bloodlust ability, this card can reach high levels of damage if it eliminates several targets.
Alfredo es la carta destacada para esta batalla, cualquier carta gladius de muy bajo coste de mana como este caso es una carta que debes tomarte en serio, aunque en nivel 1 es bastante baja de estadísticas en nivel 5 esta carta tiene una buena velocidad, daño y desarrolla la habilidad de atacar desde la primera posición, si a todo esto le sumamos que cuenta con la habilidad Bloodlust, esta carta puede alcanzar altas cotas de daño si elimina varios objetivos.
🎴 Angelic Mandarin & Torrent Fiend
Our last units are Angelic Mandarin to keep the offense in the first position and heal the second row with the Triage ability, while the last position is guarded by Fiend Torrent in case of units with sneak.
Nuestras últimas unidades son Angelic Mandarin para mantener la ofensiva en la primera posición y sanar la segunda fila con la habilidad Triage, mientras que la última posición es custodiada por Fiend Torrent ante la posibilidad de unidades con sneak.

🔥 Round 1 & 2
From the first round the importance of speed stands out, we already eliminated 2 units and Alfredo already activated the bloodlust now does 3 damage. In the second although we lost Xenith Monk and Tide Bite, we eliminated Uraeus and weakened Life Sapper.
Desde el primer round destaca la importancia de la velocidad, eliminamos ya a 2 unidades y Alfredo ya activo el bloodlust ahora hace un daño de 3. En el segundo aunque perdimos a Xenith Monk y Tide Bite, eliminamos a Uraeus y debilitamos a Life Sapper.
🔥 Rounds 3 - 6
In the third round Alfredo ends up eliminating Life Sapper increasing his stats again, in the 4th round although we lost Darkspear, Alfredo can attack from the first position and together with Angelic Mandarin they eliminate the dangerous Dr. Blight in the 5th round leaving our opponent incapacitated and granting us victory, here lies the importance of upgrading these gladius, if they hadn't been level 5 they wouldn't have been able to make a difference. Next battle!
En el tercer round Alfredo termina eliminando a Life Sapper incrementando nuevamente sus estadísticas, en el 4to round aunque perdimos a Darkspear, Alfredo puede atacar desde la primera posición y junto a Angelic Mandarin eliminan al peligroso Dr. Blight en el 5to round dejando incapacitado a nuestro oponente y otorgándonos la victoria, He aquí la importancia de upgradear estas gladius, si no hubiera estado en nivel 5 no habría podido hacer la diferencia. In this battle we will use the Conscript ability to summon a Gladius card on the battlefield, this ability is only available on the Chaos Legion edition reward summoners that are currently available on the market, the ones I have were obtained from the old reward chests so they are linked to my account. We will choose the life splinter since it has very good flying units.
En esta batalla utilizaremos la habilidad Conscript para invocar una carta Gladius en el campo de batalla, esta habilidad solo la tienen los invocadores rewards de la edición Chaos Legion que actualmente están disponibles en el mercado, los que yo tengo los obtuve de los antiguos cofres de recompensa así que están ligados a mi cuenta. Escogeremos al splinter de vida ya que tiene muy buenas unidades voladoras.

🎴 Summoner/ Invocador: Franz Ruffmane
Our summoner will be Franzz Ruffmane, this card although it only gives us +1 defense allows us to bring a Gladius card to the battlefield, I normally use these summoners when it comes to games with a high mana limit since their cost is really high.
Nuestro invocador será Franzz Ruffmane esta carta aunque sólo nos da +1 de defensa nos permite traer al campo de batalla una carta Gladius, normalmente uso estos invocadores cuando se trata de partidas con alto limite de mana ya que su costo es realmente alto.
🎴 Drybone Barbarian
Our strategy will be based on a powerful vanguard that does a lot of damage and Drybone Barbarian is the ideal card for this job. It has the Enrage ability that increases its speed and damage if it is attacked and also has the chance to return melee attacks with its second ability Retaliate.

🎴 Marisol Contuma
Our gladius card for this battle is Marisol Contuma, she is one of the few gladius that has great damage, she attacks from the second position so she is the perfect complement to our tank, thus articulating a team that by itself could disarm the enemy vanguard.

🎴 War Pegasus/Runelinger/Pelacor Arbalest
These 3 cards make up our long-range offensive core in the second position, Pelacor Arbalestar and War Pegasus can save themselves from the earthquake, but Runeslinger will be the one to sacrifice himself since we need his 2 abilities: Affliction to prevent the tank from healing and Stun to incapacitate the opponent.

🎴 Adelade Brightwing
Our last card is strategic, Adelade can not only fly but also repair shields and revive a fallen teammate, being immune she is not affected by the poison of cards with the sneak ability like Uraeus, so we will place her in the last position.

In the first round our tank took severe damage but we managed to take down his Uraeus and although he was revived he is very weakened ready to be dispatched in the second round.
En el primer round Nuestro tanque recibió daños severos pero nosotros logramos derribar a su Uraeus y aunque fue revivido esta muy debilitado listo para ser despachado en el segundo round.
🔥 Rounds 2
In the second round War Pegasus finishes dispatching Uraeus and Pelacor dispatches Djinn Renova, eliminating 2 powerful units thanks to the solid vanguard formed by Drybone Barbarian and Marisol. At the end of the round Drybone is shot down but brought back into the battle by Adelade Brightwing.
En el segundo round War Pegasus termina de despachar a Uraeus y el Pelacor a Djinn Renova, eliminamos asi a 2 unidades poderosas gracias a la sólida vanguardia conformada por Drybone Barbarian y Marisol. Al final del round Drbone es derribado pero devuelto a la batalla por Adelade Brightwing.
🔥 Rounds 3
In the last round, Drybone finishes dispatching Adelade and Marison eliminates the enemy Pelacor, increasing its damage and speed to 6. Portal Spinner remains in the first position, which, when eliminated by our Pelacor, leaves our enemy unable to execute any attack from the first position and can only wait for our War Pegasus to finish it off. Victory!
En el último round Drybone termina de despachar a Adelade y Marison elimina al Pelacor enemigo aumentando su daño y velocidad a 6. Queda Portal Spinner en la primera posición que al ser eliminado por nuestro Pelacor deja a nuestro enemigo incapaz de ejecutar ningún ataque desde la primera posición y solo le queda esperar que nuestro War Pegasus lo acabe. Victoria!

- Gladius cards are a perfect complement to strengthen our deck in the modern format. My recommendation if you are just starting out is that you try to get into a clan as soon as possible. It is not difficult since there are many clans that are actively looking for new players.
- Las cartas gladius son un complemento perfecto para fortalecer nuestro mazo en el formato moderno, mi recomendación si estas empezando es que intentes ubicarte en un clan lo más pronto posible, no es algo difícil ya que hay muchos clanes que activamente están buscando nuevos jugadores.
