Lexi and Squeek are naughty girls!! I have replaced their collars more times than I can count, but there is something so cute and special about putting a specially selected collar on them ❤️

Of course, the whole palava starts with catching them and getting them into a confined space, like one of our bedrooms. The antiflea/deworming drops are administered before we put on the new collar, which has them hating me for a while. The drops go between the shoulder blades, which is in the only place they cannot clean themselves. this means it can be absorbed as needed and eventually, as they groom, they do spread it around a bit. t DEFINITELY beats trying t get them to eat a tablet or fighting with them to swallow it (there is a trick with gently squeezing the jaw in just the right place and that allows you to pop the tablet in, but you will have the shit scratched out of you first)
You absolutely must wash your hands thoroughly after administering the anti-flea/ deworming drops. Just like we don't want them to lick it because it's essentially poisonous, the same goes for us.
The Cure - The Lovecats
They normally go sulk on the windowsill or under the bed for an hour or two and grant you forgiveness. Then, just when you've gained their trust, and they get all sleepy as they cuddle you, you betray them by sticking the collar on!

I highly recommend that you adjust it to the right size for their neck loooong before attempting this because you'll probably only have one go, and naturally, of course, they're going to be SUPER grumpy with you after this.
Back to the collar, they make them pretty easy to clip on now, but I do recommend doing this when they are either very sleepy or actually asleep so that you can put it on and make some adjustments if you have to. They will eventually wake up and go sulk on the windowsill or under the bed for a while.

Lexi, of course, was a very willing model, once she'd gotten over herself, and realized how darn cute she looked!
Squeek on the other hand, has no fondness for the camera whatsoever, but she eventually relented and us take some photos of her gorgeous face. @aimeludick, who is the only human in the house that Squeek will sleep with, had a go at first, and then I lent her my phone to try to get some better shots.
