Good day everyone and welcome back to another exciting episode of our weekly science and technology reports. Hope we are all doing great ?
Mine was fairly okay, still recovering from the effect of the chaos of the past week as was pointed out in my previous report, hopefully, brighter days ahead. As a matter of fact, unforeseen circumstances can also lead to positive things just like it can also lead to negative things, there's time for all
Ook, let's not get carried away, let's focus on the main business of this post and they are presented below
The Science of Affection That Makes Cats Knead You
Do you know what kneading is ?
It's kinda difficult giving a clearer picture with words but there are two kinds of individuals that are known to do such and they are bakers (human) and cats. I'm not very familiar with cats but i hope to have a cat as pet someday, they look cute in every way. Ok, so when i looked up a video of cats kneading, i was like, wait a minute, do cats actually do that ?
There are some of us here like @mathowl and @gentleshaid who have/had cats, you may have observed the cat performing this kind of motion with it's paws - see gif below
Probably on your blanket or your body, do you know what it means ?
Well, if you don't, you can proceed here to find out. There may actually be more you don't know, if you think you know.
A Groundbreaking Scientific Discovery Shows That We Can Reverse Death
Most of us think we know what death is but we may just be fooling ourselves. As a matter of fact, as advances in medical technologies progresses, it is becoming increasingly impossible to define death. At some point in the past it was thought that when heart related activities stops working (irreversibly), the person is dead but what about during and after a successful heart transplant ?
Later, it was then shifted to the brain - since the brain controls almost all other organs in the body, when the brain and related activities stops working (irreversibly) the person is considered dead. Well, today there's a new technology that seems to be able to revitalise the biological functions of a supposed dead body - both Heart and brain originally being dead. This has raised a lot of puzzling questions about death, one of them being, is death permanent or irreversible ?
This research despite raising paradoxes also appears very promising, especially the possibility of defeating death - some of us maybe craving for immortality. If you wish to know more, this page is all yours but i would suggest you see it, it may worth your time.
Landmark Study: Dinosaurs Were in Their Prime When Asteroid Hit Earth
Have you ever met a dinosaur before ? - i mean in real life
Well, I have and i think you have too. Uh 😳
Wait, I thought they died a long time ago ? - you may be asking
Not really, there are two major kinds of dinosaurs, the non-avian and the avian kind. Modern birds are believed to be descendants of the avian dinosaurs, it's the non-avian dinosaurs that went on extinction.
About 65 millions years before human beings came into existence, an asteroid struck earth and killed majority of life on it, most especially the Non-avian dinosaurs but it didn't kill them all at once. The asteroid event prepared them for their extinction - especially those that remained.
However, there were other living creatures, like some mammals that were also affected by the asteroid and there appears to be a puzzling question that has been troubling scientists for quite a long time now. According to this puzzle, why did these other creatures not go into extinction too like the non-avian dinosaurs ?
In this report, a recent research seems to have found the answer....read more
Nuclear-fusion lab achieves ‘ignition’: what does it mean ?
One advantage of harnessing nuclear energy is that for the same amount of fuel compared with other energy sources on earth, there's usually more energy produced . Another advantage is that it has zero carbon emissions, thus climate friendly. There are two ways of harnessing nuclear energy, through nuclear fission or nuclear fusion. The former is used in advanced nations to generate electricity while the later is what our sun and other stars uses to generate non-gravitational energies also, remember that most energy sources on earth requires this energy from the sun for their existence. However, nuclear fusion appears to be superior to nuclear fission and it's because fission usually releases a lot of radioactive materials that are very hazardous to us and our environment. If our sun had made use of nuclear fission, we would have died a long time ago. With these facts, we can now see why there's so much money and research efforts going into nuclear fusion. Despite it's advantages, designing a nuclear fusion reactor has been challenging. Ever wondered why our sun has lasted this long ?
It (our sun) is over a million years old and still has many more years to live, self-sustainability is the key to it's relative long life. To achieve self-sustainability, a lot of factors needs to be considered and in this recent report, one of these factors just got a breakthrough, . In fact, this breakthrough is among the first steps and this achievement is coming since research in fusion power began - over 70 years ago, though more work is needed to be done. This progress on the other hand seems to be making a lot of headlines lately. Do you wish to know the breakthrough and more ?

Scientists create living smartwatch powered by slime mold
Wastes are a major cause of land pollution and there are different kinds of wastes. Currently, the fastest growing kind of waste is the electronic waste and there appears to be two major factors promoting it
- When our electronic gadget is damaged
- when there's a newer model in the market
With the increasing functions and simplicity of electronic gadgets these days, they seem to be like pets, only that they are aren't living and it's probably why we don't think twice before discarding them to get a new one.
But what if these electronic gadgets had life in them ?
Did you know it could help reduce electronic wastes. But how ? 🤔........read more to find out
A Tiny Flicker in Your Eyes Opens a Window to Your Private Thoughts
Did you know that if you are presented with two options to pick only one, i can tell the one you would eventually pick before you actually pick it, without any physical contact with your brain
Is telepathy involved ?
Is magic involved ?
Or am i a soothsayer ?
Well, the answer is non of the above. It's actually physical, it's something that a part of our body does involuntarily and that we making the decision aren't aware of. Behold my friends, i present to you our "eyes", it may seem innocent but it's the Judas that betrays us by exposing what we may be thinking.
Do you know how ?........ alright then, read here to find out and more.
It is here we conclude today's report, have a thoughtful day and till i come your way again next week.
