Today I wanted to complain about something so stupid as not being allowed to 100% pay off a damn bill!

There are some things that are absolutely asinine on the face of it, and complete inept on the other end. Either way it's fucking dumb! This one I felt was in the bucket of "Fucking criminal", let me tell you! LOL

I celebrated the other day the fact that I "paid off" one of my student loan balances. I gave it a few days to post to the account and I was curious as to what would happen to the account; would it move to a different bucket, show some type of celebration or some shit? Alas, I was completely disappointed, and in a very frustrating way!

What a real sack of shit, these loan companies are. If you ever think they have your interest at heart, you are sorely mistaken. Taking a look at that above screenshot from my loan company, you can see that I attempted to pay off the balance in its entirety only to be given the middle finger, saying that I can't pay off that specific loan until all of the other loans are paid! What the actual fuck is this Batman?!

You would think that companies would really celebrate when the people they service take the time and effort to work towards paying off a loan, and would be there to help you along in the event of closing out on some of the balances. Nope! Turns out they actually could care less about us and treat us like cattle waiting for slaughter, in most likely accurate terms.

I will now be accruing interest on this pathetically low balance of a loan and I can't keep that at a 0.01$ balance because if it is lower than 1.00$ I can't throw any money towards it. I have not yet called the company to tear them a new one but I am giving it a few days so I can calm down a bit and talk with them rationally and logically, knowing that the poor soul on the other end of the phone is just one of their workers, not one who makes decisions but is going to get an earful from someone who is trying to do the right thing and get rid of these fucking loans.

This is the thing that's incredibly frustrating about the current time we live in - debt is absolutely and unequivocally being used as a tool for keeping people enslaved. You can see SO many examples but Student Loans are one of the most egregious examples of this insanity, where someone can't pay off a specific loan because of some stupid fucking technicality like this, and instead has to let it continue to sit there and accrue a small amount of interest for no legitimate reason.

These days it feels like you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. Ugh what a pain LOL
