Today I wanted to enjoy a little bit of Gelato randomly!

Evening Gelato Trip

Ice cream is definitely an iconic treat throughout the world. I enjoy it for sure, but I don't get it very often, except for a few weeks ago!

I forget what I was doing exactly, probably going out on an errand in the evening to get something at Home Depot, but I was driving by the Gelato place in my area and said "fuck it, let's get some!" and I rolled on in.

Gelato in America isn't as good as it was in Italy, but I definitely appreciate it more than I do regular ice cream. It's got a different flavor and texture to it, with it being more on the creamy side instead of really hard. This Gelato place is pretty good, they seem oldschool Italian and they've got fresh flavors of the day as well as staples from their kit. That's one of the things that is really important for a Gelato place. You don't see massive containers of frozen solid treats, but rather a treat that is semi-melted. If you see that, you likely have a good one!

The Gelato place makes their own which is also crucial. I don't like when places import it, but I know that some do what they have to do. I am lucky in that they make their own, so that's great. Thankfully when I got there it wasn't a real big line. Sometimes the line goes out the door and wraps around the building! It's really great to see, because there aren't a lot of Gelato places around and this one is definitely a staple of the area.

The flavors they've got are a pretty good variety. I believe I got Biscotti and Tiramisu on this one. I didn't want to get a gigantic one because it was the evening and if I had a lot, there would be no hope for me falling asleep lol. I think that's one of the things that I've noticed as I've gotten older, I tend to have to do these things at a certain time of the day to really enjoy it. I think eating ice cream in the afternoon is best because we tend to get a sugar crash since it's loaded with sugar and our insulin spikes. It's a way to prep yourself for bed hahaha but not too early that you don't waste the day. The evening as this one was, is good as well because a little serving helps guide you right into the mood!

I really enjoyed the treat, and it will likely be many months before I'm back, but the tricky part is we drive by it often hahaha. Sometimes you are in that exact mood where you say "fuck it" and just roll on in for some Gelato!
