Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to share a few photos from a recent foggy morning that I found quite interesting!
Foggy Autumn Trees
There is something eerie and beautiful about a foggy morning!
We don't get a lot of fog where we live, which is a good thing. Fog can be a real pain in the ass for driving and other things. When we do get it though, I try to make sure to capture it if I can! It can be quite beautiful if the right photos are taken.
This morning was one of those strange ones in terms of weather. We had a cold batch of weather and then it was getting warm then it got cold again. We had the ground warmer than the air at that point and it turned into some nice fog. We got a pretty thick blanket of it but thankfully most if it was up in the trees. When the fog is all over the ground it becomes a challenge to drive.
I was playing around with my DSLR camera to try and capture different angles of the stuff. I know some of the photos didn't quite come out the way I planned but I like how it captures the fog pretty interestingly! One of the next steps is to flip some of these photos into black and white, but that's a task for another day.
I like how this happened at a time where the trees were still turning colors. The trees, as of this writing, have largely ditched all of their leaves. It's that end of the beautiful time of year before things flip to get a lot colder. I don't necessarily mind that, but it is always nice to look outside and see the beautiful colors of the leaves dancing all around in the sunlight!
The fog sitting at the tree tops is definitely one of my favorite elements. It has a creepy vibe to it, almost like a horror movie or something. Combine that with the discolored trees and it really gives off some interesting vibes! I think I was pretty lucky to spend time walking around to find spots to take these shots because a few hours later, all the fog was gone and the sun was out blazing and it ended up being a beautiful day!
That's one of the things that I rather enjoy about this time of year and where we live. It is really pretty fluctuating in terms of what happens on a day to day. A few days ago, it was frigid cold and there was frost everywhere, with it barely reaching above 40 degrees during the day. Then we had a couple days of wonderfully comfortable 70 degree weather to give us a little bit of last-minute sunshine and vitamins! That was a really nice break from the cold before the deep winter sets in.
I think another one of the things I enjoy about these photos and taking things like this is that I get to use these photos randomly over the next few months to years for posts. I like being able to have a stash to look back on for inspiration. I tend to write a lot of different topics and things, which are just my own unique way of doing things. Peppering in some of the photos that I take over the years into those posts instead of using stupid stock photos or something is definitely my own way of doing things.
This photo below has definitely been my favorite of the day. I love the different beautiful colors that are on display but the eerie and ominous fog in the background. You can't see what is behind those trees pretty much, and it's really fascinating! I know what's back there, but a random onlooker? You likely have no idea what's behind those trees :D. Nature is really quite wonderful!
