Hello Hivers and friends! Today I share with you the first snow acculmation in my area. It happened shortly after arriving at my workplace. Before it happened, I took some photos of the skyline.
I took these few shots while I was checking out work vehicles. One thing I enjoy about winter here is the sunrise or twilight period before it. Most days, it's simply candy for the eyes. I love the assortment of mixed oranges in the sky. As time ticks away, the color fades away and sometimes the sun shows itself. Today though the sun did not show its partial self because clouds began to lower and a few specs of snow fell.
It's winter here and it's not all that surprising to see snow this time of year. Last year, we didn't get snow until Christmas Eve if my memory serves me right. The last few years snow has come late here. I say that because it has snowed as early as late October. I don't mind seeing a little dusting just to let you know it's there. This little bit of accumulation really doesn't warrant any extra work like shoveling. Being it's December, it does have its place for the upcoming festive holidays.
I'm glad I captured it because it came and is now gone. Seems like it all happened in the blink of an eye. The temperatures were teeter tottering between freezing after the snowfall. Now add a little wind and the bright sun and poof it disappeared. All this happened within an hour I believe. I really thought it would hang out for longer than it did. Usually the first snow fall leads to multiple vehicle accidents by idiot drivers. I simply don't think there was much of an opportunity for this to happen, fortunately. Rest assurred, this will happen at some point because it always does.
No evidence remains now and the sky gives that appearance that it didn't happen. I mean look at those harmless white puffy clouds and the blue skies. If one slept in this morning, they would have no idea it snowed unless of course, they watched the news and believed the weatherman. So, not so fast Nature, I caught you, hehe. Only one thing shows the proof and that is my photographs!
Well, it's not if it will snow again, but when. I'm sure it will be soon when I am bundled up in layers pushing and shoveling snow. Long or short winter this year? I can wish for a short one, but I'm prepared to just go with the flow. It's all I can do regardless, right?
I end this blog with a hot bowl of soup for my lunch. Seeing snow today has got my appetite up for something warm. Just some Campbell's Chunky Creamy Chicken & Dumplings canned soup. Perfect for my midway journey through the day!
This is all I have for you this time. Take care, be safe and stay warm if your also experiencing winter. Until next time!
