Week 5 Results | 14W-19L-5P | -0.522 Units Loss

This is a weekly overview of my personal sports betting/trading results on teams from the Belgian Jupiler League documenting my journey toward long-term profit with some insights on my overall approach.

The downtrend pretty much continued in week 5 bringing me at currently a 2.66 units loss on the season. However, I'm mostly looking at this from the positive side, as I wasquite cautious last week avoiding higher stakes while I still feel like I'm not making any big mistakes and I actually should be up on the season. The way I see betting is that you need quite some volume and you need to make sure you have more bets that clearly had value compared those that clearly were bad. This with a lot of bets that simply end up being coinflips.

I see this season so far in a way that there is a healthy advantage on good vs bad bets which is a feeling backed up by actual closing line value. The coinflips however tend to mostly go the wrong way. This is nothing out of the ordinary and just standard variance that comes with betting. The damage of 2.7 units down in the end also still is very workable and limited. So for now, I'm pretty much unfazed by it and will just continue grinding alone while I continue to self reflect that I'm not getting delusional or anything.

Pre-Game Preview Bets Season 2024-2025

I had 2 'low risk' bets I felt quite good about both based on the idea that one team would attack while the other would defend resulting in some corners. The main danger is that an early goal makes the team in the lead lay back which is what happened for Club Brugge.

Season 2024-2025 Personal Betting Chart

There were 2 matches delayed which gave less betting opportunities and also not the highest volume. The goal is still to work toward 8-10 units staked each week which I haven't reached so far and the fact that I'm down 2.7 units also makes me more cautious as I don't want to risk digging a hole that will get too big to crawl out off. I did go on a 25+ week 'winning streak' last season where the chart basically only went up and also when zooming out the chart is still 'up only'. So for now no real worries and I just hope the coins will fall in the good direction next week.
