The final stretch of Brasileirão is approaching and without a doubt things start to get much more interesting when we see both the top and bottom of the table. The teams involved in these two scenarios are looking now more than ever to become champions or try to escape relegation.
Personally, I am one of those who think that this Brazilian championship format is the best and most exciting. I know that the knockout model (elimination system) is also very exciting, but being able to follow your team's evolution until they win the title in each round is priceless.
In recent years we have always seen the country's main teams among the main positions in the competition. I can mention Palmeiras, Flamengo and Atlético-MG. Recently this list increased thanks to the SAF given to Botafogo, which in recent years has stood out with its millionaire squad, as the owner John Textor has dedicated himself to this.
Therefore, these teams have the best and main squads in Brazil currently. Of course, we still have other teams, but I'm just referring to these 4, as they are the ones that won the Brasileirão title in the last 5 years, apart from Botafogo, of course, because as I said before, the Rio club has stood out recently.
But analyzing this season's competition, we can say that Botafogo and Palmeiras have a great chance of winning the title. Mathematically, even with little chance, I can mention Fortaleza and Flamengo who are on the outside and perhaps could surprise everyone, but this will depend on the mistakes already mentioned above.
Botafogo Will Be Again Paraguayan Horse?
Never in the history of football have we had a club like Botafogo that handed the title to Palmeiras on a platter last year. It is important to remember that in the second round of the 2023 Brasileirão, Botafogo was 14 points ahead compared to second place, which was Palmeiras.
But some may say that this emotional imbalance and technical, may have been due to the defeat that Botafogo suffered against rival Flamengo, or that the main reason would have been after the departure of coach Luís Castro in June 2023 to take over Al Nassr, from Saudi Arabia. Remembering that at the time, the Portuguese coach accepted the invitation because his salary would be 4 times higher than what he received at Botafogo.
I think anyone would accept a job offer with a much higher salary than their current job, right? Let's not be hypocrites about this. Especially nowadays, when it is practically rare for an athlete to be loyal to their favorite club. Luís Castro left Botafogo at the top of the championship and the team has not won this title since 1995.
Palmeiras in search of the third championship
Palmeiras' feat last year was sensational and made even the most incredulous realize the strength that Verdão has with its fans. Without a doubt, the 2023 Bi-Championship was a title that will be remembered for generations.
Now, for the “Tri” to be possible, Palmeiras needs to have a good final stretch, as like the other clubs, they all have 10 games until the final round. Compared to Botafogo, for example, the team from São Paulo has an even more “calm” path, as it will face Atlético-GO, which will probably already be relegated and will also have a direct confrontation against Botafogo itself.

A reta final do Brasileirão está chegando e sem dúvidas as coisas começam a ficar muito mais interessantes quando vemos tanto a parte de cima quanto a parte de baixo da tabela. Os times que estão envolvidos nesses dois cenários buscam agora mais do que nunca para conseguir serem campeões ou tentarem fugir do rebaixamento.
Particularmente, sou daqueles que acham que este formato de campeonato brasileiro é o melhor e mais emocionante. Sei que o modelo de mata-mata (sistema eliminatório) também são muito emocionantes, mas poder acompanhar a evolução do seu time até a conquista do título em cada rodada não tem preço.
Nos últimos anos temos visto sempre os principais times do país entre as principais posições da competição. Eu posso citar Palmeiras, Flamengo e Atlético-MG. Recentemente essa lista aumentou graças a SAF dada ao Botafogo que nesses últimos anos tem se destacado com seu elenco milionário, pois o dono John Textor tem se dedicado para isso.
Portanto esses times possuem os melhores e principais elencos do Brasil atualmente. É claro que ainda temos outras equipes mas me refiro apenas esses 4, pois são os que conquistaram o título do Brasileirão nos últimos 5 anos, tirando é claro o Botafogo, pois como eu disse antes, o clube carioca tem se destacado recentemente.
Mas analisando a competição desta temporada, podemos dizer que Botafogo e Palmeiras possuem grandes chances de título. Matematicamente mesmo que com poucas chances, posso citar o Fortaleza e Flamengo que correm por fora e talvez, possam surpreender a todos, mas isso vai depender de tropeços dos já mencionados acima.
Botafogo Será Novamente Cavalo Paraguaio?
Nunca na história do futebol tivemos um clube como o Botafogo que entregou de bandeja o título para o Palmeiras no ano passado. É importante lembrar que no segundo turno do Brasileirão de 2023, o Botafogo possuía 14 pontos à frente em comparação com o segundo lugar que era justamente o Palmeiras.
Mas alguns podem dizer que esse desequilíbrio emocional e técnico, possa ter sido devido a derrota que o Botafogo sofreu diante do rival Flamengo, ou que o motivo principal teria sido após a saída do técnico Luís Castro em junho de 2023 para assumir o Al Nassr, da Arábia Saudita. Lembrando que na época, o técnico português aceitou o convite porque seu salário seria 4 vezes maior do que ele recebia no Botafogo.
Acho que qualquer um aceitaria um proposta de emprego com um salário muito superior ao emprego atual, certo? Não sejamos hipócritas por isso. Principalmente hoje em dia que está praticamente raro algum atleta ser fiel ao seu clube do coração. O Luís Castro deixou o Botafogo na liderança do campeonato e o time não conquista esse título desde 1995.
Palmeiras Em Busca Do Tricampeonato
A façanha do Palmeiras no ano passado foi sensacional e fez até o mais incrédulo perceber a força que o Verdão possui com a sua torcida. Sem dúvidas que o Bicampeonato de 2023 foi um título que será lembrado por gerações.
Agora, para que o “Tri” seja possível, o Palmeiras precisa fazer uma boa reta final, pois assim como os outros clubes, todos possuem 10 jogos até a rodada final. Em comparação com o Botafogo por exemplo, o time paulista possui um caminho digamos até mais “tranquilo”, pois irá pegar o Atlético-GO que possivelmente já estará rebaixado e também terá um confronto direto contra o próprio Botafogo.
Sem dúvidas de que tudo pode acontecer, pois no futebol até o impossível pode se tornar possível. Tudo vai depender dessas próximas 10 rodadas e cada time terá que fazer a melhor pontuação possível para de fato conseguir o sonhado título do Brasileirão 2024.
