When we do something good, do we really do it without expecting any recognition in return? Is that possible? That's what we'll see today!
Donating your surplus
Many people have more than they need to survive, and they are aware of this. They also know that there are people in a much worse situation who need basic things to make their lives dignified. So people who have a little more than they need end up internalizing a behavior of donating what they have left over.
So, after buying a new pair of sneakers, it is possible to separate the used sneakers for donation. Here in my subtropical climate region, we have well-defined seasons, which is practical for everyone because before winter we always have coat collection drives*.
This makes it easy for everyone who has a comfortable life to separate their surpluses and deposit them in the hands of NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations), and we don't even need to see or feel the existence of poor and needy people.
Donating what you have
A very different situation is donating what you have. The things that would be for your daily use. A very practical example is donating a carton of milk when you don't have any left in your pantry. It's like going without! Feeling the lack of what was given.
This is what we recently went through with the flood disaster in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The surrounding population gathered what water and food they had and sent it to the state that was destroyed by the floods. Soon the local markets ran out of supplies, but soon new shipments arrived and replenished our supplies. However, for the homeless, not even the voluntary transport of loads and loads of food and other items could be done since there would be no fuel available for the return of the vehicles.
Our family participated in this collective aid movement, and we sent water, in large quantities, and some food, on different work fronts. We also received people in our city who had lost everything and came to start their lives over, and we donated personal items, blankets, pillows to them.
The incredible thing about these actions is that it was not just one donation. Just once. The waters did not recede for more than a month! So there were people who were homeless, during the winter, without a home, suffering from the cold! And in addition to them, all the animals, who had no food or feed. Of course, after the people were rescued, attention was given to the animals, including donations of food and other care for domestic animals and also animals such as beef cattle.
I believe that this is true giving!
Donating what you have to those who really need it, without needing to be recognized.
The personal satisfaction of helping others is all you will gain, but you still do it because donating is an act of love.
And if you don't have anything to donate, remember: Donate blood!
It's free! And you even get a free meal/snack!

Quando fazemos alguma boa ação, será que realmente fazemos sem esperar nenhum reconhecimento em troca? Isso é possível? É o que veremos hoje!
Doar os seus excedentes
Muitas pessoas tem mais do que precisam para sobreviver, e tem consciência disso. Também sabem que existem pessoas em situação muito inferior e que precisam de coisas básicas para tornar suas vidas dignas. Então as pessoas que tem um pouco a mais do que o necessário acabam internalizando um comportamento de doar o que tem sobrando.
Então, depois de comprar um tênis novo, é possível que o tênis usado seja separado para doação. Aqui na minha região de clima subtropical temos as estações do ano bem definidas, o que é prático para todos pois antes do inverno sempre temos as campanhas de arrecadação de agasalhos*.
Assim é fácil para todos que tem uma vida confortável separar seus excedentes e depositar nas mãos de ONGs (Organizações Não Governamentais), e assim nem precisamos ver ou sentir a existência das pessoas pobres e necessitadas.
Doar o que você tem
Uma situação bem diferente é doar aquilo que você tem. As coisas que seriam para seu uso, do seu dia-a-dia. Um exemplo muito prático é doar uma caixa de leite, quando você não tem isso sobrando na sua dispensa. É ficar sem! Sentir a falta do que foi dado.
Essa situação é o que passamos recentemente com o desastre das enchentes no estado do Rio Grande do Sul. A população do entorno juntou o que tinha de água e alimento e mandou para o estado destruído pelas aguas. Logo os mercados locais ficaram desabastecidos, mas em pouco tempo novas cargas chegaram e nos reabasteceram. Porém para os desabrigados, nem mesmo o transporte voluntário de cargas e cargas de alimentos e outros itens poderia ser feito uma vez que não haveria combustível disponível para o retorno dos veículos.
Nossa família participou desse movimento coletivo de ajuda, e enviamos água, em grande quantidade, e alguns alimentos, em frentes de trabalho distintas. Também recebemos em nossa cidade pessoas que perderam tudo e vieram recomeçar a vida, e para elas doamos itens pessoais, cobertores, travesseiros.
O incrível dessas ações é que não foi apenas uma doação. Apenas uma vez. As águas não baixaram por mais de um mês! Então haviam pessoas desabrigadas, durante o inverno, sem casa, passando frio! E além delas, todos os animais, que não tinham ração ou alimento. É claro que depois que as pessoas foram resgatadas houve uma atenção aos animais, inclusive com doações de ração e outros cuidados para os animais domésticos e também os animais como gado de corte.
Eu acredito que essa é a verdadeira doação!
Doar o que você tem para quem de fato precisa, sem precisar ser reconhecido.
A satisfação pessoal de ajudar o próximo é tudo o que você vai ganhar, mas ainda assim você faz pois doar é um ato de amor.
E se você não tem nada que possa doar, lembre-se: Doe sangue!
