This is my latest AI created comic, in the tradition of Fomo and Fudd, as two fishermen come across a pretty big catch. A lot of people believe that everything made with AI is super easy and automatic, but that is not so true. While it is pretty easy to make amazing works of art with AI, you still have to remember that I still have to come up with the idea, and the punchline myself, also the prompts have to be precise and still it could take several tries before you get the look you want.
This was my first attempt, as you can see it is quite different from what I ended up with.
This attempt didn't do so well either, the AI even attempted to put a speech bubble in the cartoon, that I didn't even ask for.
To fix this, and to get rid of other problems in the image, I had to do something called "inpainting" which is the process of removing unwanted objects in the image and adding new ones. On this image you can see that I had to add Elton Musk to the image, but he is in cartoon form, so I had to change it.
Once I got Elton right, then I had to add the sign in the water, AI image generators struggle with words, so it took several attempts to get that just right. It would have been easier to just use a standard image editing program to put the words on the sign, but I wanted to make the AI do it.
I still had to end up using windows paint program to add the captions anyway.
So all in all it took 53 attempts plus inpainting to get everything the way I wanted, and still it's not perfect, but it will work. So yes, while AI is an easy way to create brilliant works of art, when trying to achieve a certain look, sometimes it can be painfully exhausting.
