I was meant to help my friend on Monday create his stake on COTI which is his choice and not my pushing or influence. I gave him the options and this is what he selected to do which is actually a good choice because of the upside and not just the rewards he makes in the process. I made t crystal clear from the outset that I will help with whatever he decided and there is always a risk in any investment. Patience is what matters along with the accumulation of rewards which will eventually pay off.
He had literally done nothing and not even depositing his FIAT of R9900 which is R100 below the flagging for the tax man. This is how we must think and that same number will be coming out when we sell and no more. One must always stay under these limits and not make yourself such an obvious target.
He uses Luno for his onramp into crypto like most South Africans as the choices are limited. To say this is crap site is an understatement, but at least there is an option. He logged in and tried to deposit and was being blocked. The site asked him to verify again who he was and level up as he had already deposited R15K 3 years ago. I did not ask too many questions as this was the time he did not listen and either lost it all or came out with next to nothing.
After doing all the verifications and answering questions as in where did this money originate from the deposit went through, but unfortunately takes 2-3 days to reflect. This means I can only help him on Friday, but now seeing his office admin staff who was helping him is kind of clueless too he can come to me this time around.
There was quite a bit of interest in the office with at least 4 others wanting to know how this all worked. They know absolutely nothing and they think we are geniuses for what knowledge we posses. I have mentioned before do not underestimate the knowledge you have as this is so valuable.
I will have him staked and up and running by Friday because the next bit will literally take 10 minutes to execute. My friend mentioned he plans to spend more time with me in the future as in weekend lessons over a few drinks and some food. He at least has the hunger and desire to learn because he sees this as a 10 year investment plan. This is the right attitude to have even though I suspect he will get a fright next year when he sees his investment do a 10 x or more. There will be serious FOMO in his office which by then he could teach them what to do.
This is how adoption will slowly take place as from 1 person understanding you will end up with 5 who then becomes 10 and so forth as they tell others what they are doing. Over the next few years we will see those invested in crypto doubling or tripling and this is where we are heading.
