We are just a few hours away from Christmas Eve, and I hope you are all having a wonderful time! I'm writing my post a bit earlier today because I might get busy later and forget about it.
For this post, I want to share my entry for the POB photo contest. If you're interested in participating, you can check out the details through this link. This round's theme is truly special: YOUR BEST PHOTO OF 2024!
I love this theme because it gives me a chance to look back on my photo walks and choose the ones I feel are truly outstanding. To me, the best photos are those that leave a lasting impression; images I enjoy revisiting time and time again.
I started doing more photo walks in March this year when I first got my DJI Osmo Pocket, intending to practice my photography skills. I guess I’ve really enjoyed it! I go on photo walks as often as every week, and I take even more photos during the holidays. It feels like I’m taking every opportunity to capture as many moments as possible, making photography feel like second nature to me.
What I enjoy most about photo walks is the opportunity to learn more about the places I visit. I get to explore my surroundings, discover new things like charming restaurants and shops, and, at the same time, it serves as a great form of exercise. In many ways, photo walks are incredibly beneficial for me. These are the reasons I’ve kept doing them, and I believe this is the kind of hobby I’ll continue for as long as I can.
The photos I’m sharing today are the ones that evoke nostalgia and allow me to reminisce about my adventures while on photo walks or visiting different places.
Chinese Garden at Jurong Lake
One of my favorite spots for photography is the Chinese Garden at Jurong Lake. It’s probably the largest public garden in Singapore.
What makes it unique is its variety of themes. While each section has its own distinct style, there’s a sense of continuity that ties the entire garden together. The most prominent structure in the garden is the Cloud Pagoda. It’s incredibly tall and stands out, especially at night when the lights are turned on. Against the night sky, it looks absolutely stunning and can even be seen from miles away.
Giant Lanterns in Gardens by the Bay

Thank you for taking the time to read about my photo walks and the memories I’ve captured along the way. Photography has become more than just a hobby for me—it’s a way to connect with the world around me and preserve the beauty I encounter. I hope my experiences inspire you to explore your surroundings and create lasting memories of your own!
