Hello to all beer lovers! π€π»
Today I decided to try to participate in your #BeerSaturday Challenge for the first time. ππ₯
Two years ago, I discovered an amazing place that became my absolute favorite, along with the best beer Iβve ever had. It all started when I moved from Ukraine to Germany and found myself in the charming town of Soest to deal with some paperwork. While waiting in a long line, I met a lovely couple: the girl was Ukrainian, and her boyfriend was German. We started chatting, and after finishing our business, they offered to show me a very special place. Needless to say, I was intrigued! βΊοΈπ«£
The place turned out to be the iconic brewery restaurant Brauhaus Zwiebel, located right in Soest. And it was there that I discovered two extraordinary beers that stole my heart forever. π
First, I tried their signature dark beer with raspberry syrup. Honestly, I couldnβt imagine such a combination would work, but it was divine! The rich, full-bodied flavor of the dark beer with its slight spiciness was perfectly complemented by the sweet, fruity notes of raspberry. It was like a flavor symphony that I never wanted to end. π₯°πΊ
Next, I had their light beer with banana juice. π Yes, I know it sounds unusual, but it was incredibly refreshing, smooth, and absolutely unique. Both drinks paired wonderfully with the traditional German cuisine served at the restaurant, which was simply finger-licking good. ππ€
A Closer Look at Brauhaus Zwiebel π»
If youβre a beer lover, this place is a must-visit. Hereβs why:
Beer Selection:
- Soester Hell & Dunkel (light and dark beer) β classic options with rich, traditional flavors.
- Soester Weizen β wheat beer with a soft, fruity aroma.
- Specialty Brews, including seasonal ones like Weihnachtsbock (Christmas Bock).
Alcohol Content: Depending on the type, their beers range from 4.8% to 7% ABV, making them perfect for both casual sipping and a fuller flavor experience.
What makes this place special is their dedication to brewing. All their beers are handmade, unpasteurized, unfiltered, and aged to perfection. This gives each drink an unparalleled depth of flavor and a natural freshness. πΊβ¨
Brauhaus Zwiebel β Atmosphere and Tradition π°
This brewery isnβt just about fantastic beer. The building itself feels like a small museum! Inside, youβll find beautiful paintings, antique objects, and decor that take you on a journey through history. Every little detail tells a story, making the wait for your order a delightful experience.
And if that wasnβt enough, thereβs a shop right next door where you can grab your favorite beers in gorgeous bottles to take home. My husband and I always bring back their dark and light beers β our own "Yin and Yang." But thereβs so much more to choose from! You can even order their beers online through their website. Hereβs the link: brauhaus-zwiebel.de.
Why I Recommend This Place π₯¨
Soest is a charming town thatβs worth visiting, even if itβs just for Brauhaus Zwiebel. Even now, living in a different city, my husband and I love coming back here from time to time to relive the incredible flavors and atmosphere.
This story and my entry for the #BeerSaturday Challenge are dedicated to this beer because it truly deserves the spotlight. If youβre in Germany, donβt miss the chance to visit this place and discover the true treasures of brewing! ππΊ
