Let us remember that in every battle God is there to help us and give us enough strength to take the next step with total courage and win in the name of Jesus.
41 Now the Philistine came and approached David, and his armor-bearer before him. 42 And when the Philistine looked and saw David, he despised him; for he was a youth, and ruddy, and handsome in appearance. 43 And the Philistine said to David, Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks? And he cursed David by his gods. 44 Then the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and to the beasts of the field. 45 Then David said to the Philistine, You come to me with sword, and spear, and javelin; but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 The LORD will deliver you into my hand today, and I will strike you down and cut off your head. I will give the carcasses of the Philistines today to the birds of the sky and to the beasts of the earth. Then all the earth will know that there is a God in Israel. 47 And all this congregation will know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD's, and he will deliver you into our hands.
48 And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose and set out to meet David, that David hurried and ran to the line of battle against the Philistine. 49 Then David put his hand into his bag and took out a stone and slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone stuck in his forehead, and he fell face downwards to the ground.

In this chapter we can read the complete sequence of the story when David's battle against Goliath had taken place, this was more than a battle between David and Goliath, it was a battle between Israel and the Philistines. David was defending the name of Jehovah against the Philistines who were lurking and to demonstrate the power of God to those who doubted. Here the key point is as David mentioned, there was only one way that a young boy without experience in battle could simply defeat a giant warrior experienced in battles like Goliath with a sling and a stone, the only way was by the hand of the Lord, exactly in this same way it had happened.
David faced Goliath and it does not mean that David was the bravest among all the people, David showed faith and trust in God, the courage to trust in the power of God, we see that David was outraged by Goliath's provocation to God's squad.
26 Then David spoke to those standing by him, saying, "What will be done to the man who slays this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?"
1 Samuel 17:26
This encouraged David since no one dared to take the step to reverse Goliath's accusation, he himself offered to defend the name of God, he was the only one who took courage and bravery (Trusting in God) to face the giant at that moment.
This can also happen in our lives, there are situations that challenge us to respond, to stand up for the Lord, in those moments we have options such as letting ourselves be overshadowed by our fears or simply facing the situation confident that God is the powerful giant who goes before us and who helps us to win just as he helped David against a giant.
We do not literally need stones to throw and knock down our fears, spiritual situations in which we physically cannot cope, our smooth stones, that will give us victory if we give a precise blow are the word of God. We are equipped with many stones, the word of God in our mind and our heart, the strength, power idea of the Holy Spirit to throw it at the right time will give us victory no matter how complicated the situation, the battle is the Lord and he will give us the victory. Recordemos que en cada batalla Dios está para ayudarnos y darnos las fuerzas suficientes para dar el siguiente paso con total valentía y vencer en el nombre de Jesús.
41 Y el filisteo venía andando y acercándose a David, y su escudero delante de él. 42 Y cuando el filisteo miró y vio a David, le tuvo en poco; porque era muchacho, y rubio, y de hermoso parecer. 43 Y dijo el filisteo a David: ¿Soy yo perro, para que vengas a mí con palos? Y maldijo a David por sus dioses. 44 Dijo luego el filisteo a David: Ven a mí, y daré tu carne a las aves del cielo y a las bestias del campo. 45 Entonces dijo David al filisteo: Tú vienes a mí con espada y lanza y jabalina; mas yo vengo a ti en el nombre de Jehová de los ejércitos, el Dios de los escuadrones de Israel, a quien tú has provocado. 46 Jehová te entregará hoy en mi mano, y yo te venceré, y te cortaré la cabeza, y daré hoy los cuerpos de los filisteos a las aves del cielo y a las bestias de la tierra; y toda la tierra sabrá que hay Dios en Israel. 47 Y sabrá toda esta congregación que Jehová no salva con espada y con lanza; porque de Jehová es la batalla, y él os entregará en nuestras manos.
48 Y aconteció que cuando el filisteo se levantó y echó a andar para ir al encuentro de David, David se dio prisa, y corrió a la línea de batalla contra el filisteo. 49 Y metiendo David su mano en la bolsa, tomó de allí una piedra, y la tiró con la honda, e hirió al filisteo en la frente; y la piedra quedó clavada en la frente, y cayó sobre su rostro en tierra.

En este capítulo podemos leer completa esta secuencia de la historia cuando la batalla de David contra Goliat se había hecho presente, esta más que una batalla entre David y Goliat fue una batalla entre Israel y los filisteos. David estaba defendiendo el nombre de Jehová contra los filisteos quién es acechaban y para demostrar el poder de Dios aquellos que dudaban. Acá el punto clave es así como lo mencionaba David, había una sola manera que un muchacho joven sin experiencia en batalla simplemente con una onda y una piedra pudiese derrotar a un guerrero gigante experimentado en batallas como lo era Goliat, la única manera era por mano del señor, exactamente de esta misma manera había ocurrido.
David enfrentó a Goliat y no quiere decir que David era el más valiente entre todo el pueblo, David mostró fe y confianza en Dios, la valentía en confiar en el poder de Dios, vemos que David estaba indignado por la provocación por parte de Goliat al escuadrón de Dios.
26 Entonces habló David a los que estaban junto a él, diciendo: ¿Qué harán al hombre que venciere a este filisteo, y quitare el oprobio de Israel? Porque ¿quién es este filisteo incircunciso, para que provoque a los escuadrones del Dios viviente?

Esto impulsó a David ya que nadie se atrevía a dar el paso para revertir la acusación de Goliat, el mismo se ofreció para defender el nombre de Dios, era el único que tomó coraje y valentía (Confiado en Dios) para enfrentar al gigante en ese momento.
Esto también puede acontecer en nuestras vidas, existe situaciones que nos desafían a responder, dar la cara por el señor, en esos momentos tenemos opciones como dejarnos opacar por nuestros miedos o simplemente enfrentar la situación confiados en que Dios es el poderoso gigante que va delante nuestro y que nos ayuda a vencer así como ayudado a David ante un gigante.
No necesitamos literalmente piedras para arrojar y derribar nuestros miedos, situaciones espirituales en las que físicamente no podemos hacer frente, nuestras piedras lisas, que nos darán la victoria si damos un golpe certero son la palabra de Dios. Estamos equipados con muchas piedras, la palabra de Dios en nuestra mente y nuestro corazón, la fuerza, potencia idea del espíritu Santo para arrojarla en el momento oportuno nos dará la victoria sin importar lo complicado de la situación, la batalla es el señor y él nos dará la victoria ¿Lo crees?.
