In practice we can be completely listening to a complete sermon and at the same time we hear nothing, for the Holy Spirit of God to work in our life and our affairs it is necessary that there be an effort on our part to hear the word of God , hearing God, this allows us to understand that there are at least 2 types of listeners of the word of God.
There are those listeners called "Passive Listeners", we surely know what they are about, they are those who are present in the body but their mind is very far away, they worry about things that have nothing to do with growing spiritually, I understand that many of them We have gone through this state due to our spiritual childhood, while many others continue, and wish to continue being children, they are not interested in listening and developing spiritually.
Unlike these types of believers, there are also believers who are "Active Listeners", these put emphasis and attention on learning from God, both in church sermons, studies and personal devotions, they are concerned with learning more about God, these Believers are attentive to the voice of God, at all times expect more than what the Lord has to give.

Dile, pues, que me ayude. 41 Respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Marta, Marta, afanada y turbada estás con muchas cosas. 42 Pero solo una cosa es necesaria; y María ha escogido la buena parte, la cual no le será quitada.

En la práctica podemos estar escuchando completamente un sermón completo y a la vez no oimos nada, para que el Espíritu Santo de Dios obre en nuestra vida y nuestros asuntos en necesario que de parte nuestra exista un esfuerzo por oír la palabra de Dios, oír a Dios, esto nos permite entender que existen mínimo 2 tipos de oyentes de la palabra de Dios.
Estan aquellos oyentes denominados "Oyentes pasivos", seguro que sabemos de que se trata, son aquellos que están presentes en el cuerpo pero pero su mente esté muy lejos, se preocupa por cosas que nada tiene que ver con crecer espiritualmente, entiendo que muchos de nosotros hemos pasado por este estado debido a nuestra niñez espiritual, mientras muchos otros siguen, y desean seguir siendo niños, no ponen interés en escuchas y desarrollarse espiritualmente.
A diferencia de estos tipos de creyentes también están los creyentes que son "Oyentes activos", estos ponen énfasis y atención en aprender de Dios, tanto en los sermones de la iglesia, estudios y devocional personal, se preocupa por aprender mas de Dios, estos creyentes están atentos a la voz de Dios, en todo momento espera mas de lo que el Señor tiene para dar.
