A Powerful Combination for Little League Rule

in #hive-1466203 days ago

The cards I like to use the most in Splinterlands have a high mana value, so the Little League rule is not one of my favorite rules in the game as it greatly limits which strategies I can use for battle.

Link to the Battle

In this battle there are 3 rules and they are: High Five, Little League and Tis But Scratchers.

There are many strategies that I can use for the Little League rule, but the deck that I like to use the most is the dragon deck because I can combine it with another deck and this increases the amount of strategies that I can use.

High Five - In this rule, players can only use up to 5 monsters in the battle.

Little League - In this rule, players can only use monsters that cost 4 or less mana.

Tis But Scratchers - In this rule, all monsters in the battle will receive the Cripple ability, with this ability, whenever they land an attack, they will reduce the monster's maximum life by -1.

When the Little League rule applies, one of my favorite summoners is Quix the Devious. He will reduce the speed and ranged attack of my opponent's monsters by -1. In the Little League rule, it is common for players to use monsters with ranged attacks because even those that use little mana have a powerful attack. So Quix the Devious is a great choice for this type of battle and also in other battles since monsters with ranged attacks are common to be used.

For the battle, I selected the following monsters:

Xenith Monk - This monster has a melee attack and costs 4 mana. He has the abilities Void and Heal, which will be of great help to him in surviving the battle.

  • The Void ability causes the Xenith Monk to receive only half of the magic damage.

  • The Heal ability causes the Xenith Monk to heal for 1/3 of his maximum health once per round.

Twiligh Basilisk - This monster has a melee attack and costs 4 mana, it has the abilities Reach and Stun.

  • The ability Reach allows the Twiligh Basilisk to attack in the second position even though it is a monster with a melee attack.

  • The ability Stun gives the Twiligh Basilisk a 50% chance to apply Stunned to the monster it attacks, Stunned monsters are unable to attack or use any ability for 1 round.

Scavo Chemist - This monster has no attack and costs 2 mana, it has the abilities Cleanse and Slow.

  • The ability Cleanse makes the Scavo Chemist remove all Magic Debuffs from the ally monster that is in the first position.

  • The ability Slow makes the Scavo Chemist reduce the speed of all my opponent's monsters by -1 while he is in battle.

Naga Assassin - This monster has a ranged attack and costs 2 mana, it has the ability Backfire.

  • The Backfire ability causes Naga Assassin to deal 2 physical damage to the monster that misses its attack against it.

Doctor Blight - This monster has a magical attack and costs 4 mana. It has the abilities Affliction, Camouflage, Posion, and Scavenger.

  • The Affliction ability causes Doctor Blight to have a 50% chance of cutting off the healing of the monster it attacks. This means that the monster will not be able to heal itself or receive healing.

  • The Camouflage ability causes Doctor Blight to be targeted by attacks only when it is in the first position. It can still receive attacks from monsters that have the Scattershot ability and can also receive damage from the Blast ability.

  • The Posion ability causes Doctor Blight to have a 50% chance of poisoning the monster it attacks. Poisoned monsters receive 2 damage at the start of each round.

  • The Scavenger ability causes Doctor Blight to gain +1 life whenever a monster is defeated in battle.

This is a very simple strategy and since I can only use 5 monsters in battle, I need to be careful when selecting the monsters.

The strategy works with the Xenith Monk protecting the Frontline while the Naga Assassin protects the Backline. The Naga will be very useful because she has a good chance of Evading attacks and she has the Backfire ability, so when this happens she will cause damage to the monster that attacked her.

With this strategy I had no problems facing my opponent's monsters and none of my monsters were defeated during the battle.
